Concealed Carry Guns
Finding the right concealed carry pistol means balancing size, capacity, caliber, and shootability in a package you’ll actually carry every day. The best concealed carry gun is the one you have with you—which means comfort, concealability, and reliability matter as much as ballistic performance. We carry a full selection of compact and subcompact pistols from Sig Sauer, Glock, Ruger, Smith & Wesson, Springfield Armory, and Canik, with options at every size and price point from pocket pistols to full-featured micro-compacts.

Choosing a Caliber
For most concealed carry shooters, 9mm is the right caliber. It offers the best combination of capacity, manageable recoil, modern defensive performance, and cost-effective practice ammunition. Modern 9mm hollow points from Federal, Speer, and Hornady match the terminal performance of larger calibers while allowing higher round counts in a smaller platform. .380 ACP is appropriate when platform size is the overriding concern—the best pocket pistols are chambered in .380. .45 ACP and .40 S&W remain fully capable for shooters who prefer them.
Size Categories
Concealed carry pistols fall into three practical size categories. Subcompact and micro-compact pistols—like the Sig P365, Ruger Max-9, and Springfield Hellcat—are the easiest to conceal and the most comfortable for all-day carry at the cost of some shootability. Compact pistols—like the Glock 19 and Sig P320 Compact—balance concealability with a full grip and higher capacity. Full-size pistols are better suited for open carry or home defense; they’re concealable but require more intentional wardrobe planning for most people.
Top CCW Platforms
The Sig Sauer P365 and P365 X Macro redefined the micro-compact category with 10–17 round capacity in a genuinely pocketable frame. The Glock 43X and 48 offer Glock’s proven reliability in a slim, single-stack-width profile. The Springfield Armory Hellcat and Hellcat Pro Comp offer competitive capacity and a strong optics-ready option at accessible prices. The Ruger Max-9 delivers 12+1 capacity in a very compact package. The Canik METE MC9 rounds out the category with excellent value and a refined trigger from the factory.
Optics and Carry
Red dot optics on carry pistols have moved from novelty to mainstream, with most modern micro-compact and compact pistols now featuring optics-ready slides from the factory. A red dot genuinely improves practical accuracy for most shooters, particularly under stress, but requires dedicated training to develop the muscle memory needed to present the pistol with the dot already in the window. If you carry with a red dot, ensure your holster is specifically designed for the optic-equipped configuration of your pistol.
Carry Considerations
The choice of holster, carry position, and concealment garment matters as much as the pistol itself. An inside-the-waistband (IWB) holster at the 3–4 o’clock position is the most common configuration for right-handed carriers. Appendix carry (AIWB) has become increasingly popular for its accessibility and concealability with lighter clothing. Whatever position you choose, use a quality holster that covers the trigger guard completely, retains the pistol securely, and allows a consistent draw stroke. Never carry without a holster specifically designed for your firearm.
