Search For a FFL / Class 3 Dealer Near You
The FFL (Federal Firearms License) information provided here is public information available from the ATF's website/database. Impact Guns has no control over the quality or accuracy of the information provided.
FFL dealers marked as "On File" are dealers that we have worked with in the past and are familiar with how to do a transfer. We can work with any willing FFL dealer to complete a transfer. All we require is a current copy of the dealers FFL be sent to us via FAX (801-393-2476) or Email (sales@impactguns.com). If we have a current copy of the dealer's license (FFL) on file, there is no need to resend it with each order.
We do not ship firearms to non-FFL holders. Firearms must be sent to a FFL Dealer, who will then perform any background checks and paperwork required.
It is the sole responsibility of the firearm buyer to contact the FFL dealer prior to order fulfillment and confirm the dealers policies, procedures, and any applicable fees they might charge.
How FFL Transfers Work ↓
What Is an FFL Dealer?
A Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) is a business or individual licensed by the ATF to deal in firearms. Federal law requires that any interstate firearm transfer—including online purchases—go through a licensed FFL dealer. The FFL conducts a NICS background check and handles the required Form 4473 paperwork. Every firearm sold at Impact Guns, whether in our stores or shipped online, is processed through a licensed FFL in full compliance with federal and state law.
How to Use This Lookup
Enter your zip code in the search above to find FFL dealers near you. Dealers marked “On File” have previously worked with Impact Guns and have their current license on file with us—no additional paperwork is needed from them before we ship. For any other willing FFL dealer, ask them to send a current copy of their FFL license to us via fax (801-393-2476) or email (sales@impactguns.com). Once we have a current copy on file, we can ship your firearm to them. The FFL information in our database comes from the ATF’s public records.
The Transfer Process Step by Step
After placing your order, contact your chosen FFL dealer to confirm they will accept the transfer and verify their transfer fee. Once your firearm ships, the receiving dealer will notify you when it arrives. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID to the dealer’s location. Complete ATF Form 4473 and consent to a NICS background check. Upon approval—which takes most people just a few minutes—the firearm transfers to you. The entire pickup process typically takes 15–30 minutes. Transfer fees are set by the receiving dealer and are separate from Impact Guns’ pricing.
Impact Guns Store Locations
If you’re in Utah, you can also transfer directly through one of our Impact Guns retail locations, bypassing the need for a third-party FFL entirely. Our store staff handles all paperwork and background checks in-house. Shopping in store also allows you to handle firearms before purchasing and take advantage of our knowledgeable staff for recommendations. Contact your nearest Impact Guns location for current store hours and transfer availability.
Common Transfer Questions
The most common question is about timing—most NICS background checks return approval within minutes, though Delayed responses can extend the process up to three business days by law. If you receive a Delay, the FFL will contact you when the check resolves. The FFL transfer fee is paid directly to the receiving dealer, not to Impact Guns. We do not ship firearms directly to non-FFL individuals—all shipments must go to a licensed dealer. For handgun transfers across state lines, you must take possession in your state of residence.
