Massachusetts Legal Guns
Impact Guns ships to Massachusetts FFL dealers and has been navigating MA-compliant purchases since 1992. Massachusetts has some of the most complex firearms laws in the country, but there are still quality options available to MA residents. Every firearm in this category meets current Massachusetts legal requirements — we do the research so you don’t have to.

Key Massachusetts Firearms Laws
Massachusetts requires a License to Carry (LTC) or Firearms Identification Card (FID) to purchase most firearms. The LTC allows purchase of handguns, rifles, and shotguns. The FID is more limited. Licenses are issued by local police chiefs, which means approval rates and processing times vary by city and town.
Handguns: The Massachusetts Approved Roster
Like California, Massachusetts maintains an approved handgun roster. Handguns sold by dealers must appear on the Massachusetts-approved list, which requires specific safety features including a manual safety and loaded chamber indicator or magazine disconnect. This restricts many popular handguns from standard retail sale. Every handgun in this category is MA roster-approved.
Assault Weapons Ban
Massachusetts enforces a strict assault weapons ban that prohibits semi-automatic rifles with certain features including detachable magazines combined with pistol grips, folding stocks, flash suppressors, or grenade launchers. Compliant configurations (featureless rifles or fixed-magazine builds) are permitted. All rifles in this category are MA-compliant.
Magazine Capacity
Massachusetts prohibits magazines manufactured after September 13, 1994 that hold more than 10 rounds. Pre-ban magazines may be legal depending on manufacture date. All magazines we ship to MA addresses are 10-round or compliant capacity.
The Transfer Process
All online firearm purchases ship to a Massachusetts-licensed FFL dealer. Massachusetts requires a 7-day waiting period. Your FFL dealer will handle the FA-10 (Firearms Transaction Record) and background check. Budget approximately $25–$50 for transfer fees. Verify your dealer is comfortable with out-of-state online transfers before ordering.
