This Proof Research PXT carbon fiber pre-fit barrel is made for Defiance Ruckus actions with the recessed bolt nose option; Proof states it does not fit actions with cone, flat or controlled-round-feed bolts. It is chambered in 22 Creedmoor with an 18-inch length, a 1:8 PXT twist, a Sendero contour and a 5/8-24 threaded muzzle, and it comes chambered and threaded for installation with a few specialized tools; headspace should be confirmed with gauges. PXT is Proof Exponential Twist rifling, which starts at a very slow twist at the throat and tightens progressively to the nominal rate at the muzzle; Proof states this lowers bullet engraving force and extends barrel life. The barrel has a steel core wrapped in aerospace-grade carbon fiber, which Proof says makes it up to 64% lighter than a steel barrel of similar contour.
