This unique holster design allows you to forget old-fashioned thumb breaks that slow your draw and complicate re-holstering. The patented SERPA lock engages the trigger guard as you holster the pistol and won’t let go until you release it. The release is made using your normal drawing motion, with the trigger finger beside the holster body.

As your trigger finger naturally comes to rest on the SERPA lock’s release mechanism, simply push the mechanism as you draw the weapon and it releases the gun for a smooth, fast draw. No awkward use of a middle finger release or thumb break to interfere with a full combat grip, the SERPA lock lets you draw the weapon quickly while establishing a full grip from start to finish.

Unlike thumb breaks, which can sometimes be difficult to fasten one-handed, the SERPA lock allows you to re-holster quickly and securely every time, using only one hand. The SERPA holster has the same speed cut and concealment enhancing design of our Standard Model Carbon Fiber Holster.

All BlackHawk® CQC™ SERPA holsters come with both belt loop and paddle platforms.

    My favorite holster yet

I work in a law enforcement career field and I have used numerous holsters for my duty weapon. The Bianchi M12 Universal Military Holster during training, Safariland 6004 Tactical Holster, SAFARILAND® 6305 Tactical Holster w/Quick Release Leg Harness and Bianchi AccuMold holster just to name a few. I purchased a Serpa CQC for my privately owned weapon a couple months after buying my SA XD40. I have to say, I love this holster. If LE fire arms training has taught me one thing, its the need to be able to draw and re-holster your weapon with out needing to look down. In other words, draw your weapon on a subject without ever looking away from him a letting him get jumpy on you. I would say about 50% of the holsters I have used in my career took entirely too long to achieve good muscle memory on how to draw your weapon without looking. Many of them have awkward retention devices or an odd flap that doesn't allow you to re-holster with one hand, never mind with out peeking. The Blackhawk CQC Serpa Holster is the easiest system and one of the more comfortable ones I've used. The retention is excellent and only takes a push of your trigger finger to disengage. As you draw the weapon out, your trigger finger is already place at the "ready position" (finger outside the trigger guard until you are ready to engage target). This holster provides an incredibly smooth transition from having a holstered weapon to having that bad boy pointed down range and ready to get some. Out of the box, on to my hip, I was holstering and re-holstering my gun with no assistance with in minutes. I even changed the position of the holster, side of my hip, behind my hip, in front of my hip and even cross draw. I had no problems with drawing or re-holstering my weapon. Ever since I've used this holster for my privately owned weapon, I've been in the market for any SERPA, if not the same one for my duty weapon. I highly recommend this holster to any law enforcement, military operator, or civilian sheep dog. Great holster and I would put my life in its metaphorical hands.
