Inland Manufacturing

Inland Manufacturing is an American firearms manufacturer based in Dayton, Ohio, producing faithful reproductions of WWII-era American firearms with period-correct markings, materials, and specifications. The original Inland Manufacturing Division of General Motors was the largest single producer of M1 Carbines during World War II — building over 2.6 million of the 6 million total produced. The modern Inland Manufacturing carries that heritage forward with historically accurate M1 Carbine reproductions, WWII-specification 1911 pistols, and a growing suppressor line anchored by the new Model 1910 Maxim-style can.

M1 Carbines: The Core of the Inland Lineup

Inland’s M1 Carbine reproductions are the most historically detailed production M1 Carbines available. Where Auto-Ordnance produces a generalized M1 Carbine, Inland produces year-specific variants with the correct components for each production period. The M1 1944 Carbine features a Type 2 barrel band, no bayonet lug, and an adjustable rear sight — correct to mid-war Inland production. The M1 1945 Carbine uses a “low wood” walnut stock, Type 3 bayonet lug and barrel band, round bolt, and adjustable rear sight — correct to final WWII production. The M1A1 Paratrooper reproduces the folding-stock airborne variant issued to paratroopers. The M1 Scout is a modernized configuration with a rail-equipped handguard for contemporary use while retaining the M1 Carbine action and caliber.

1911 Pistols

Inland produces the 1911 A1 Government and 1911 Custom Carry in .45 ACP, both with WWII-era specifications and appropriate arsenal markings. The 1911 A1 Government is a straight reproduction of the wartime pistol; the Custom Carry adds modern carry enhancements while retaining the classic 1911A1 profile. Both complement the M1 Carbine lineup for collectors building a complete WWII American sidearm collection.

Inland Suppressors: Model 1910 Heritage & ILM Modern Line

Inland offers two distinct suppressor families. The Model 1910 is a heritage line paying homage to Hiram Percy Maxim’s original 1910 silencer design, available in .30 caliber and 9mm with period-correct exterior styling and modern internals — the natural companion to an Inland M1 Carbine. The ILM suppressor line covers practical modern use: the AM-22 covers .22 LR through 5.7×28mm in a 4.6 oz aluminum monocore; the 30 Cal DT covers .30 caliber rifle use; and the 9mm covers pistol and PCC hosts. All use Inland’s I-Core monocore technology for user-serviceable cleaning. The PM-22 and I-CAN round out the lineup for .22 LR and compact pistol use respectively.

Inland vs Auto-Ordnance: WWII Reproduction Compared

Inland and Auto-Ordnance are the two primary WWII reproduction manufacturers, but they approach the market differently. Auto-Ordnance covers the Thompson, 1911, and M1 Carbine with broadly correct specifications; Inland focuses specifically on year-accurate M1 Carbine variants with the correct components for each production period. For general WWII collecting, Auto-Ordnance provides broader coverage; for M1 Carbine collectors who want period-specific accuracy, Inland is the more detailed option. Inland’s suppressor line — particularly the Model 1910 — has no direct Auto-Ordnance equivalent.
