The HK Mark 23 Caliber .45 ACP pistol gives shooters match grade accuracy equal to that of the finest custom made handguns, yet exceeds the most stringent operational requirements ever demanded of a combat handgun. The Mark 23 provides this accuracy without the need for hand-fitted parts common in custom-built match pistols costing thousands of dollars more. One of the most thoroughly tested handguns in history, the MK23/Mark 23 project originated in 1991 when HK began development for the U.S. Special Operations Command, the organization that directs the activities of America's most elite military units, including the Navy SEALs and the Army Special Forces. On May 1, 1996, the first HK MK 23 pistols were delivered to the U.S. Special Operations Command for operational deployment, making the MK 23 the first caliber .45 ACP pistol to enter American military service since the venerable Government Model 1911A1.

    Well worth the money spent!!

Literally, if I could only keep 1 pistol it would be this one. It lives up to its legendary accuracy as I was able to shoot rounds in the same holes a few times. impact guns was very good with the fast shipment and also communicating with my ffl dealer. You won't feel guilty spending the money on this gorgeous piece if you know the background of it and why it was created...especially if you've been eyeballing it on google for quite some time haha

    Great Gun

Posted by Steven on Oct 24th 2013

Ok I'm a first time buyer of a gun online. So I placed my order the ammount was ran on my card which was then placed back into my account. I called to double check everything was ok, customer service was great and said the money would be withdrawn once the gun was shipped and it was. My local dealer acually likes impact guns because they are on top of the transfer paper work. All I'm all I definitely will be buying from this site again. Gun was in excellent shape. Of course its huge, but if I had to focus on on thing its the grip. I'm 6'5 280 and this gun is a handful and more. Weight to me isn't horrible, duty pistol I wouldn't recommend, I plan on using it for open carry. I have a G-code holster on order best holster for this gun.

    Wonderful Firearm

I used this gun in my snake hunting trip on an island southwest of mainland Alaska. It can handle very cold temperatures and very warm temperatures. If you have a job and need to get it done this is the gun for you. I would however recommend a suppressor as this gun can produce quite a sound leaving your prey very alert.

    Ammo Answer

Posted by Red on Jan 7th 2013

Any firearm that is designed for the military or for a project call from SOCOM or MARSOC or any of the others for that matter are designed to the highest standard for them but the stringent testing they put them through proves how reliable the gun is but they are shooting plain ball ammunition every time. Thats what the military is allowed to shoot and thats the ammo that is used during the trials so you can't just pick up a gun designed for the military and expect every kind of ammo to feed properly because it was designed for the military.

Answer regarding ammunition for the mk 23

Hi , Ask H&K which ammo to use for maximum precision. Stick to that ammo or load your own to the same specification and you will have perfect performance.

    Hk mark 23 .45 pistol

Posted by Stu on May 6th 2011

I have a Hk mark 23 pistol and I wanted to share a few things about it with other shooters. The pistol is very accurate, although I felt slightly handicapped due to its somewhat heavy trigger pull compared to 1911's with better triggers. What really surprised me was that it would not feed Hornady XTP's or Speer Gold dots very well. At least one malfunction per magazine. My gunsmith thinks he can cure this problem by throating the feed ramp. Has anyone else experienced this? I thought this pistol would feed anything, from all the reviews I read, this pistol has the reputation of being super reliable. I called HK, but they were not very helpful.
