bought this gun strictly for snakes in east texas where copper heads are a big problem....used #6-#7 1/2 shot and some of the mini shells in #8 shot...i used a 16 oz beer can as my target at 6 yds or close to 18 feet..the mini shells worked really well and the 3" #7 1/2 shot was extremely leathal to that beer can which was over kill...was really surprised by the grouping from the mini shells and feel really good with this combo for taking shots at snakes even out to 10 yds/30 feet....
