Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) is proud to announce the Ruger® SR1911, an "All American" classic rendition of John Browning's most famous handgun design. The public debut of the Ruger SR1911 pistol will take place during the NRA Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania April 29 - May 1.
The single-action .45 Auto Ruger SR1911 features a bead-blasted stainless steel frame and slide, precision CNC machined for a precise slide-to-frame fit. The stainless steel barrel and bushing are produced simultaneously, from the same ordnance-grade barstock, for a precise fit and improved accuracy. The slide features rear cocking serrations and a dovetailed three-dot sight system with a Novak® rear sight and standard front sight.

"In this 100-anniversary year of the introduction of the Government Model 1911 it is only fitting that such a firearm be completely manufactured in America with all American-made components."
The Ruger SR1911 pistol features a titanium firing pin and heavy firing pin spring, which negates the need for a firing pin block, offering an updated safety feature to the original "Series 70" design without compromising trigger pull weight. An extended thumb safety offers improved manipulation and an oversized beavertail grip safety provides positive function and reliability. A visual inspection port offers visual confirmation of a round in the chamber.
Positive extraction is facilitated by an improved internal extractor. The plunger tube for both the slide stop and thumb safety is integral to the frame and will never shoot loose. The swedged link pin also will not shoot loose. The SR1911 uses a skeletonized hammer and an aluminum, skeletonized trigger with an adjustable over-travel stop. The Ruger SR1911 features a standard recoil guide system and flat mainspring housing.
The Ruger SR1911 grips feature a Ruger logo in checkered hardwood panels. Each pistol is shipped with a bushing wrench and a soft case. The SR1911 will fit currently available holsters.

CLASSIC STYLE: Original 1911 Series 70 design provides for easy takedown and re-assembly. Slim traditional design with hardwood grips and checkered backstrap.
MODERN MANUFACTURING: Precision CNC-controlled machining process results in a superior slide-to-frame fit and smooth slide travel. The stainless steel barrel and bushing are produced from the same bar stock, on the same machine, for improved accuracy.
PERFORMANCE: Positive barrel lock-up allows for a superior accuracy out-of-the-box. Oversized ejection port and extended magazine release enhance competition performance.
TRIGGER AND HAMMER: Lightweight, aluminum, skeletonized trigger features an adjustable over-travel stop and provides a very crisp, no creep, light trigger pull with a quick, positive reset. Skeletonized hammer is lightweight and provides faster cycling.
SIGHTING SYSTEM: Dovetailed, 3-dot sight system features a Novak® LoMount Carry rear and standard front sight that combines optimal target acquisition in an ideal carry configuration.
FRAME AND SLIDE: Stainless steel frame and slide feature blasted, low-glare finish and slide serrations for positive grip.
SAFETY: Oversized beavertail grip safety provides positive function and reliability. Extended thumb safety and slide stop lever provide for improved, positive manipulation. Visual inspection port allows for visual confirmation that chamber is loaded.

Out of the box - Spectacular
Just received the Ruger SR1911 5" model. As usual, IMPACT has fantastic service and the best price for this model. Fit and Finish are spectacular on the SR1911 and nothing wobbles except the grip safety (as it should). I'm anxious to shoot the Ruger and will provide a second update after the range visit.

I got this gun last year for my self as and birthday gift . Love it 100 rounds no jams or FTE 's all around good 1911 for the price had and AO 1911 a1 us army sold it just so I can get this baby . Ruger you guys sure did make one fine 1911 and the fit and finish couldn't ask for any more . Much love to all the gun people out there , be safe and have fun

I purchased this ...sr1911, I waited for 2 moths to shoot with my son-in-law in Reno,this 45 is awesome,put 100 rds. threw it no problem..and I am not an expert,but it was very accurate. I had shot 1911 militaries before,what a difference.Only thing I noticed the grips were a little loose.Got the wrench to tighten,no problem,but do not over tight,you will strip it.

Very nice gun
I've had my SR1911 commander for 6 mos now and I love it. I own 5 other handguns but this is my first 1911. I did my research and read lots of reviews before I picked this brand. I have put at least 1,500 rounds thru this gun and it is perfect. The fit and finish is great and it shoots extremely smooth. I like that it's all stainless and made in America too. I have had 2 failures to feed, only while using the Ruger brand extended 10 round mag. Outside of that I have had zero problems with this gun. The trigger is great and now I hate all my other handguns because of it. Accuracy is top notch and it definitely will impress. I let a buddy shoot this gun who owns a Kimber, Colt and a couple of custom 1911s and he went out and bought a Ruger afterwards.

Perfect carry!
This Ruger has been great. It's my first firearm purchase and I couldn't be happier. I carry it concealed every day, wherever I go. It shoots amazing with great accuracy and low recoil. While carrying it, I don't even have to worry about my sweat ruining the wood grip since it's been treated to resist damage. The Ruger SR1911 has been worth every penny. I mean to keep it forever. You won't regret buying yourself one.

Beautiful firearm update
I'm following up from an earlier review. I've now fired the gun extensively and can say this is one of the easiest guns I've shot. Very accurate out of the box. No failure to feeds with 'Small Pistol Primers - Military Ballistics Industries' ammo. O was surprised at how accurate it shot. There was what appeared to be some very light surface rust after sitting at my FFL's for 45 days but it cleaned up with some WD-40 and elbow grease. I'm using Eezox to prevent future problems. Can't say enough about this gun. I researched extensively before buying and I couldn't be happier. Buy this gun, no regrets guaranteed.
