Colt once again impressed me with the quality, fit and finish of their weapons. I Choosed this gun because it has collector value,quality and how it closely resembles the original m1911a1 made during world war 2 except for taller sights, blueing, and no lanyard loop. Beside that it matches my service rifle collection.going to be a prized possession for many years to come.

Excellent 1911. It shoots great out of the box with no break in period to get it running properly. This gun is more accurate than I can be so no complaints there either. Also in my opinion, colt is the only 1911. American made and the original. Worth the price.

This is the most basic pistol, new in the box, that one can get which is the most faithful to a "commercial Government" model made by Colt from the begining of the 1911 handguns through the 1970's. An excellent platform to start with and certainly an hierloom to pass on to further generations. This is the "heater" carried by our men in uniform until the 1980s with the desired Series 70' firing system. beautiful bluing and traditional grips. I give this one 5 stars...Can't go wrong on this piece and there is plenty of room to customize as one sees fit. I would stake my life on this pistol no doubt.
