Uberti
A. Uberti S.r.l. is the Italian manufacturer responsible for producing the most authentic Western firearm reproductions available anywhere in the world—the company behind the revolvers and lever-action rifles sold under the Cimarron Firearms, Taylor’s & Co., and other importer brands, as well as Uberti-branded firearms imported directly. Founded in Gardone Val Trompia in the Italian firearms manufacturing heartland, Uberti has produced Single Action Army reproductions, 1873 Winchester reproductions, cap-and-ball revolvers, and historical long guns for over six decades. For buyers who want Uberti-built firearms under the Uberti name rather than an importer brand, Impact Guns stocks them directly.

Uberti vs. Cimarron: What’s the Relationship
Uberti is the manufacturer; Cimarron Firearms is one of the primary American importers who specifies historical configurations, provides quality oversight, and sells the resulting firearms under the Cimarron name. Cimarron’s owner Mike Harvey works directly with Uberti on historical specifications and finish quality, and Cimarron-branded Ubertis typically reflect that additional specification effort. Uberti-branded firearms sold directly are the same mechanical quality but may have different finish options or historical configurations than Cimarron’s curated lineup. For most buyers, the Cimarron-imported Ubertis offer the best value; for buyers who want specific Uberti-only configurations, direct Uberti-branded options are available.
Uberti Single Action Army Revolvers
Uberti produces the full range of SAA variants—standard, Bisley, bird’s head, Schofield, and others—in calibers from .22 LR through .45 Colt and .44-40. The Uberti SAA action is widely considered the benchmark for reproduction quality, with a trigger feel and cylinder lockup that equals or exceeds period Colt production in many examples. SASS competitors at national championship level run Uberti-built SAAs—both Cimarron-branded and direct Uberti—as primary competition revolvers. The fit, finish, and action quality at comparable price points to domestic alternatives make Uberti the default choice for serious cowboy action use.
Uberti 1873 Winchester Reproductions
The Uberti 1873 lever-action rifle is the foundation of Cimarron’s 1873 rifle lineup and is also available under the Uberti name in sporting rifle, saddle ring carbine, and trapper configurations. The same caliber options—.357 Magnum, .44-40, .45 Colt—allow matching with SAA revolvers. Uberti’s 1873 rifles use period-correct toggle-link actions that replicate the original Winchester mechanism, producing a distinctly different cycling feel than modern lever-action designs. For SASS competitors and collectors who want the most authentic 1873 reproduction, Uberti’s production is the accepted standard.
Cap-and-Ball Revolvers
Uberti produces an extensive cap-and-ball lineup covering the 1847 Walker, 1851 Navy, 1858 New Army, and 1860 Army revolvers that preceded the self-contained cartridge era. These are sold without conversion cylinders as antique replica firearms that do not require FFL transfer under the Gun Control Act. For black powder shooters, historical reenactors, and collectors who want to experience pre-cartridge handgun technology, the Uberti cap-and-ball revolvers are built to the highest reproduction standard available.
