Remington
Remington has been making American firearms since 1816—the oldest gun manufacturer in the United States—and two of their designs are among the most successful in history. The Model 700 bolt-action rifle has been in continuous production since 1962 and remains the most popular bolt-action in America. The Model 870 pump shotgun has sold over 11 million units and counting. Impact Guns carries Remington’s current production lineup including the Model 700, Model 7, 870, 1100, and V3 across rifles and shotguns.

Remington Model 700—America’s Bolt Gun
The Model 700 has been the best-selling bolt-action rifle in America for over 60 years, and it earned that position. The 700’s three-ring receiver design and push-feed action deliver exceptional accuracy, and the enormous aftermarket of stocks, triggers, and accessories means a 700 can be configured for virtually any purpose. The ADL and BDL are the classic hunting configurations; the SPS (Special Purpose Synthetic) is the most affordable entry point with a stainless barrel option. The 700 PCR (Precision Chassis Rifle) brings the action into a modern precision shooting chassis. In .300 Winchester Magnum, the 700 has long been a first choice for elk and long-range hunting.
Remington Model 7—The Compact Hunter
The Model 7 is the short-action, lightweight version of the 700 action, designed specifically for hunters who need a compact, fast-handling rifle for tight cover or mountain terrain. At under 6.5 pounds in most configurations, it carries well all day without fatigue. Available in .243 Winchester, 7mm-08 Remington, .308 Winchester, and 6.5 Creedmoor, the Model 7 is an ideal deer and general hunting rifle for younger shooters, smaller-framed hunters, or anyone who prioritizes a light, short package over maximum barrel length. The stainless synthetic variant handles weather particularly well.
Remington 870—The Most Popular Shotgun Ever Made
With over 11 million sold, the 870 pump shotgun is the benchmark against which every other pump is measured. The 870’s dual action bars eliminate the twisting feel of single-bar designs, the receiver is machined from solid steel, and the 870 accepts an enormous range of aftermarket stocks, chokes, barrels, and accessories. The 870 Express is the most affordable entry point; the 870 Wingmaster is the premium walnut-stocked hunting version; the 870 Tactical is configured for home defense with a pistol grip stock and extended magazine. Few purchases offer as much versatility and longevity as an 870.
Remington 1100 and V3—Semi-Auto Shotguns
The 1100 semi-automatic shotgun was revolutionary when introduced in 1963 for its gas-operated system that reduced felt recoil significantly compared to fixed-breech designs. It remains in production as a sporting and hunting shotgun favored for its soft-shooting characteristics and reliability. The V3 is Remington’s modern semi-auto, featuring a VersaPort gas system that self-regulates across a wide range of loads from 2¾-inch light target to 3-inch magnum. Available in 12 gauge field, sporting, and tactical configurations, the V3 is Remington’s most versatile semi-auto and an excellent value in the semi-auto shotgun market.
Remington After the Restructuring
Remington went through bankruptcy in 2020 and emerged under new ownership with RemArms acquiring the long gun lines (700, 870, 1100, Model 7) and continuing production in Ilion, New York. The restructured company has focused on quality control and customer service. Current production Remington rifles and shotguns are back to the standard that built the brand’s reputation. For buyers who were hesitant during the transition period, the current lineup reflects a recommitment to the quality that made the 700 and 870 American icons.
