Springfield Armory Announces the Kuna Tri-Lug Model | Impact Guns

Posted by Thomas on Aug 25th 2026

Springfield Armory announced the Kuna Tri-Lug Model on August 25, 2026, adding a quick-detach tri-lug suppressor mount to its braced Kuna pistol platform — the same bayonet-style mount long associated with MP5-pattern suppressor hosts, now on a 9mm pistol built for competition and home defense alike.

What's New on the Tri-Lug Model

The headline change is the suppressor mount itself: instead of standard threading, the Tri-Lug Model uses a three-lug bayonet mount that lets a compatible suppressor click into place and lock without matching thread pitch — faster on and off, and a mounting standard shooters already trust from decades of use on submachine-gun-pattern hosts. The Tri-Lug Model pairs the new mount with hybrid flip-up sights and a Strike Industries pistol brace, on the same 6.125-inch barrel and 30-round magazine compatibility as the rest of the Kuna line.

Where the Tri-Lug Model Fits in the Kuna Lineup

Springfield's Kuna platform already spans a pure competition configuration (optics-ready slide, no brace, built around Springfield's VIS red dot system) and a braced PDW configuration with an M-LOK handguard for lights and accessories. The Tri-Lug Model extends the braced side of that lineup specifically for suppressor users who want a quicker-attach mount than standard threading offers.
