The MK Arms MK760 project started in the early 1980’s after acquiring M76 manufacturing rights from Smith & Wesson. It is yet another evolution of this extremely popular SMG design going back to the Swedish K. . It is a direct, licensed-right clone of the SW M76, which was originally inspired by the Swedish K (Carl Gustaf M/45) for U.S. Navy SEALs during the Vietnam War
