Fun and Precise Pistol
This pistol is so much fun to shoot! Everyone has a blast shooting it..... pun intended. The long barrel always gets a few chuckles, but that's why I bought it. It reminded my of the revolver Nicholson's Joker pulled from his waistband in Batman. And I'm not the only one to make that comment. It's actually very balanced and easy to shoot despite the long barrel. And the precision..... WOW!!!! The local range has a rim fire range that reaches to 25 yards. Plinking steel poppers is as easy as with a rifle with this long barrel. Rest your elbows on the bench and take steady shots and you can hit the smallest of hanging swinging targets at 25 yards or even further. It's really limited to the shooters vision and shooting ability because this pistol is a tack driver. Adjustable rear site means you can dial it in and hit the smallest of targets at distance. Trigger is very crisp, very light, leading to accuracy and precision. This is also a great pistol for new and young shooters. There is NO recoil because of that barrel and the design of the action that brings the bolt straight back at you. With no reciprocating mass of a slide, no tilting barrel design, there is very little weight moving, and it's all coming straight back. This leads to a VERY FLAT shooting pistol that stays right on target. You shoot it FAST! That leads to the one con.... magazine capacity. 10 rounds, not terrible, but it's gone in seconds. The mags aren't terribly difficult too load but not the fastest. The loading tabs help a lot, but you might end up with soar thumbs. And if you're loading for young/ new shooters, be ready to have an empty mag and a hand reaching for a new one in your face before you've got the third round in the mag you're loading. Buy extra mags, and lot's of them. I've tried Mec Gar clone mags and they run with no problems. Usually $5 to $10 dollars cheaper than than the Ruger mags, the springs are a little stiffer and harder to load but they feed with no problems on the ones I bought. Can't recommend the Ruger MK IV enough! Everyone should own at least one. If you're wondering about the 10 inch barrel version it's absolutely everything you're thinking it will be and more. You won't regret it. And I always give full recommendation to ImpactGuns as a seller. Great prices, selection, and communication.
