CZ Duty
The CZ Duty is CZ-USA's modular, striker-fired 9mm pistol, built around a serialized chassis that takes three grip module sizes and an optics-ready slide that mounts popular red dots directly. It comes as a compact 4.0 C or a full-size 4.0 F, each with a 4-inch cold hammer forged barrel and an optional ambidextrous manual safety. Impact Guns lists the CZ Duty with the rest of the CZ-USA lineup.

What Makes the CZ Duty Different
CZ describes the Duty as the next generation of its striker-fired pistols. A serialized chassis holds the fire control components, so the grip, barrel length and magazine capacity can be configured around it. Three grip module sizes (small, medium and large) change the palm swell and trigger reach. The slide release, magazine release and manual safety are all ambidextrous, and the pistol can be disassembled without pulling the trigger. Safety features include a three-stage drop safety, with drop, trigger and out-of-battery protection.
CZ Duty 4.0 C and 4.0 F: Compact or Full-Size
Both frames use the same 4-inch barrel and 9mm chambering. By CZ's published specifications, the 4.0 C weighs 770 grams empty and measures 188 x 33 x 135 mm, while the 4.0 F weighs 780 grams and is 143 mm tall. CZ lists 15 rounds as standard for the compact and 17 for the full-size, with extended base plates that add two rounds and 10-round magazines as limited options. Magazine counts differ by item, so check the capacity in each item's name before you choose.
Manual Safety or No Manual Safety
Each size is offered with and without an ambidextrous manual safety, marked MS. CZ describes the 4.0 C MS as a compact frame suitable for everyday carry, and the 4.0 C without a manual safety as a choice for shooters who prefer simple handling. CZ calls the 4.0 F suitable for both civilian and armed-forces use, and the 4.0 F MS a full-size pistol designed primarily for duty use.
Optics-Ready Slide and Night Sights
The slide accepts Trijicon RMR, Shield RMSc, Holosun K and Leupold DeltaPoint Pro footprints directly, using the pin set included with the pistol. CZ lists adapter plates for dovetail-footprint optics such as the Aimpoint Acro and Holosun HE509T. The three-dot sights are set for a lower-third co-witness with a red dot, and the items listed here carry tritium night sights. Browse handgun optics or red dot sights to match a footprint to your pistol.
Built for High Round Counts
CZ guarantees a 50,000-round service life, or 25,000 rounds of DM51 overpressure ammunition loaded about 30 percent hotter, including a 10,000-round period with no parts changes. The barrel is cold hammer forged, the slide carries a nitride finish, and the frame is fiberglass-reinforced polymer. CZ also reports testing based on NATO STANAG AC/225 methodology, covering drops, water and debris.
CZ Duty vs. CZ P-10 C
The Duty is a separate series from the CZ P-10, though CZ says its ergonomics build on the approach already used for the P-10. On paper the two compacts are close: CZ lists the standard P-10 C at 740 grams with a 102 mm barrel and 187 x 132 mm dimensions, against the Duty 4.0 C's 770 grams, 102 mm barrel and 188 x 135 mm. Both list a 25 N trigger pull. What the Duty adds is the serialized modular chassis, three grip module sizes, a direct-mount optics interface with an included pin set and an optional ambidextrous manual safety. Choose by the grip and feature set that suits your hand and use.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the CZ Duty come with a manual safety?
Either way. Each size is offered with and without an ambidextrous manual safety, and the MS in a name marks the version that has one.
How many rounds does the CZ Duty hold?
CZ lists 15 rounds for the 4.0 C and 17 for the 4.0 F, with extended base plates adding two. Some items include 10-round magazines or a 19-round magazine, so confirm the count on the specific item.
Which red dot sights fit the CZ Duty without an adapter plate?
CZ lists the Trijicon RMR, Shield RMSc, Holosun K and Leupold DeltaPoint Pro footprints for direct mounting with the included pins. The Aimpoint Acro and Holosun HE509T use adapter plates.
Is the CZ Duty the same pistol as the CZ P-10?
No. The Duty is its own series with a modular serialized chassis. See our CZ P-10 page for that family.
