New: The CZ Duty Modular Striker-Fired Pistol

The CZ Duty is CZ’s new 9mm modular striker-fired duty pistol, announced in October 2026. It launches in four models with 4-inch barrels. The 4.0 C is the compact and the 4.0 F is the full-size. Each also comes with a manual safety, as the 4.0 C MS and 4.0 F MS.

CZ built the pistol around a serialized chassis that holds the fire control components. That chassis accepts three grip module sizes (S, M, and L) so shooters can adjust trigger reach and palm fit.

CZ lists the compact at 15 rounds and the full-size at 17 rounds, with +2 base plates for extra capacity. The slide release, magazine release, and manual safety are ambidextrous, and the pistol has a three-stage drop safety system.

The slide carries three-dot sights, either luminescent or tritium, set for a lower-third co-witness with a red dot. CZ says the redesigned optics-ready slide accepts the Trijicon RMR, Shield RMSc, Holosun K, and Leupold DeltaPoint Pro directly, with no adapter plate.

CZ also states that the pistol has a cold hammer forged barrel and nitride finish. It rates the pistol for a 50,000-round service life, or 25,000 rounds of overpressure ammunition. See the full lineup on our CZ Duty page.

CZ P-10 Series: The Striker-Fired Core of the Lineup

The CZ P-10 is CZ’s striker-fired 9mm pistol family. The P-10 C is the compact model, the P-10 F is full-size, and the P-10 S is the sub-compact built for carry.

CZ describes the P-10 trigger as crisp with a short reset and lists its trigger weight at 5.5 pounds. The frame is fiberglass-reinforced polymer. CZ also offers optics-ready versions of the P-10 C, F, and S.

The Duty builds on P-10 ergonomics. CZ says both pistols use its DiFEND human-factors approach, and the Duty trigger is an improved design based on the P-10. Choose the P-10 for a proven compact or sub-compact. Choose the Duty for a modular duty-size pistol.

CZ P-07, P-09, and CZ 75: DA/SA Pistols

Shooters who prefer a hammer-fired DA/SA pistol should look at the CZ P-07, the CZ P-09, and the CZ 75 family. They give a longer, heavier first pull, followed by lighter single-action shots.

The P-07 is the compact model, and the P-09 is its full-size counterpart. The CZ 75 is the original design in the family.

CZ Shadow 2 and Shadow 2 Carry for Competition

The CZ Shadow 2 is CZ’s sport pistol, a DA/SA pistol designed for practical shooting competition. CZ lists Shadow 2 variants including Optics Ready, Orange, and Compact models.

The CZ Shadow 2 Carry brings that sport-pistol trigger action to an everyday carry format. CZ lists a lightweight 7075 aluminum frame, a DA trigger weight of 11.9 pounds, and an SA weight of 4.7 pounds. Browse our competition guns page for more.

CZ Scorpion Carbines

The CZ Scorpion family covers 9mm pistol-caliber carbines. They suit range use and home defense, and many shooters add stocks, grips, and other accessories.

Which CZ Is Right for You?

For a modular duty or home-defense pistol, start with the CZ Duty. For a proven striker-fired compact or carry gun, choose the P-10 C or P-10 S. For hammer-fired DA/SA, look at the P-07, P-09, or CZ 75.

For competition, choose the Shadow 2. For a 9mm carbine, choose the Scorpion. The choice mostly comes down to action type, striker or DA/SA, and how you plan to use the pistol.
