Great find: the SIG SAUER P226 MK25- identical to the pistol carried by the U.S. Navy SEALs.
The P226 pistol sets the standard by which all other combat handguns are measured. The exceptional ergonomics and balance make this fullsize pistol easy to handle. Its longer barrel yields better ballistic performance and accuracy. The P226 MK25 is identical to the pistol carried by the U.S. Navy SEALs-the fleet’s special warfare operators.
This railed P226 MK25 is chambered in 9mm and engraved with an anchor on the left side of the slide. Dept of Defense UID marked on right side of slide.
Unique identification, or UID, is the asset tracking method in which the Department of Defense manages its inventory.
The DoD UID program requires all tangible item that are warehoused, supplied, issued or made by a branch of the Department of Defense to be uniquely identified. The UID must distinguish the item from all others, so that the item may be tracked and monitored throughout its entire lifetime within the DoD system.
UID is often compared to the social security numbering system. Like a social security number, the UID mark is unique to the item and it identifies the item throughout the span of its lifetime - without ever being modified.

  • This one is a keeper!

I'll keep it simple. I bought this beauty new in the box. During my first target outing, I ran 200 rounds through her with nothing special...115 GR. Blazer Brass FMJ, slow fire and rapid...not one single hiccup, and it felt perfect. Take-down and re-assembly for cleaning for a DA/SA couldn't have been easier. Sights were great. Round placement was far better then expected. No more new Colts or Remington for me. Every one of them I've owned malfunctioned in some manner, new and when worn in. This! Might be time for a second back-up Sig. They are well worth the cost.

  • Great handgun

I bought one for my son. After we went to the range and I shot it, I had to get one for myself. You will not go wrong buying this gun. A must have for anyone who loves shooting handguns. Get one, you will be glad you did!!!! Best buy ever!!!

Great full size pistol very happy with my purchase. the gun comes with 3 mec-gar mags an tritium night sights. I am waiting on my surefire x300 to come in to attach to the pistol for night shooting. I would recommend this gun to everybody if they are willing to shell out the money for it.

  • By far the best

I always wanted to have a sig p226 and now that i have one i know what all the talk was about... absolutely the best pistol i have ever shot... right out of the box, full mag, 15 rounds from 10 yards at a 6 inch target. All 15 within half inch apart dead on bullseye... now may it be that cuz im a marksman or its just sig is that good. Lol... i never wanna fire another make handgun again... im content and thrilled.... if u can spare the extra chunk of change get one...

  • Awesome Gun

Sadly I am only 18 so I am not old enough to get my LTC, However my friends father owns one and I have fired it many times at the range, along with .357 Magnum, M&P .45, and 9mm Berreta and a few others and the Sig P226 is by far the overall best handgun I have ever fired. It shoots true, very crisp trigger pull, smooth as hell, and easy to handle recoil. It also doesnt hurt that it looks pretty badass too. All in all this gun is the leader in its class.

  • Best pistol I've handled / owned

Posted by Mike on Dec 28th 2013

I have a 9mm Glock, a .45 Kimber, and a 9mm Beretta. I can easily say this is the best built, most comfortable shooting handgun I've owned. I liked it so much, I just got the P227, which is basically the .45 ACP version of the MK 25 / P226. I love my MK25 and highly recommend that you buy it if you're a serious shooter / collector. Just an excellent weapon. Pricey, but worth it!

  • Best yet

Of all the handguns I have owned over the decades- this is by far the best- no doubt.

  • sig p226 navy

my personal guideline for buying any weapon is "if the seals use it,thats good enough for me" .this is the top of the line in handguns.the quality is apparent at every turn.i bought 2 and may get 1 more

  • 226 mk25 and 226navy

  • Great gun

After finally taking the gun to the range I can say that it's a fine pistol and accurate too.

Big bright night sights that are easy to pick up in a dark room
    Crisp smooth 10# trigger
    3 15 round mags included
    Great grips
    And incredibly well built

Not many. The weight may be too much for some this is a full size semi auto.
And the lack of any safety levers may put off those more focused on safety.

But all in all a very well built pistol representative of its p226 pedigree. A definite must for anyone looking for a service auto, or for military looking to ditch that toy of an m9 for a real gun.
