Surefire

SureFire is the original weapon-mounted light — the company that invented the category and has spent four decades supplying U.S. military special operations, law enforcement, and serious civilian shooters with lighting and suppressor solutions that set the performance standard. Where other brands offer comparable specs at lower prices, SureFire offers something different: the most extensively tested, most combat-proven weapon lights and suppressors in existence, backed by a track record that stretches from Delta Force to LAPD SWAT to the hands of armed citizens who won’t accept second-best.

SureFire Weapon Lights: X300 Series

The SureFire X300 Ultra is the flagship pistol weapon light and one of the most widely issued duty lights in law enforcement. The X300U-A produces 1,000 lumens from a compact housing that mounts on standard Picatinny and GL-style rails. Its TIR lens produces a tight, far-reaching beam with enough spill for target identification in the periphery. The X300U-B variant moves the activation switch rearward for different thumb placement preferences. For duty holster compatibility, the X300 series is among the most supported platforms — Safariland, Blackhawk, and virtually every major duty holster manufacturer produces X300-specific retention holsters. SureFire Scout Light: Rifle and Carbine Illumination

The SureFire Scout Light series covers weapon-mounted lights for rifles, carbines, and shotguns. The Scout Light Pro (M600U) produces 1,000 lumens in a low-profile M-LOK compatible housing that mounts directly to handguard rail slots without a separate adapter. The Scout Light series uses the same CR123A batteries as the X300 and is rated for the same mil-spec durability standards. For AR-15 and patrol rifle builds where a lightweight, proven weapon light is needed, the Scout Light Pro is one of the most common choices among law enforcement and military personnel.

SureFire Suppressors: SOCOM Series

SureFire produces suppressors under contract to the U.S. military and sells commercial versions of those same designs to civilians and law enforcement through the SOCOM series. The SOCOM300-SPS and SOCOM556-SPS are direct-thread suppressors for .308/7.62 and 5.56/.223 respectively, built from titanium and Inconel for durability under sustained fire. SureFire suppressors are fast-attach compatible with SureFire’s own muzzle devices. For shooters who want a suppressor designed to the same specifications as the cans used by U.S. Special Operations, SureFire is one of a very short list of manufacturers who can make that claim.

SureFire vs. Streamlight: Which Should You Choose?

SureFire and Streamlight are the two dominant names in duty-grade weapon lights. Streamlight offers the TLR-7 and TLR-1 series at significantly lower price points with comparable lumen output. SureFire commands a premium based on its more extensive military qualification testing, longer combat track record, and the perceived reliability margin that comes with that history. For law enforcement agencies with tested and approved equipment lists, SureFire is frequently the specified standard. For civilian defensive use, either brand performs reliably — the choice often comes down to budget, holster ecosystem, and whether the SureFire pedigree justifies the price difference for your application. See: Streamlight.

SureFire High-Capacity Magazines

SureFire also produces high-capacity magazines for AR-15 and M4 platforms — the 60-round and 100-round quad-stack magazines used by special operations units and competition shooters who need extended capacity without drum magazine bulk. SureFire magazines use a proprietary quad-stack feed geometry that provides reliable feeding from a 60-round capacity in a package only slightly longer than a standard 30-round magazine. These are competition and range tools rather than standard defensive magazines, but they represent the same engineering philosophy SureFire applies to all its products.
