Sig Sauer P320 X5 Legion
The Sig Sauer P320 X5 Legion is the competition-ready flagship of the P320 family—built around the same serialized FCU as every other P320 but tuned specifically for USPSA Production and Carry Optics. It ships with a full-size 5” barrel, tungsten-infused polymer grip module that adds weight below the bore axis, a flat-faced Legion trigger at approximately 4.5 lbs, and an optics-ready slide cut for direct ROMEO1PRO mounting. With 21-round magazines and a platform that has won at every level of competitive shooting, the X5 Legion is one of the most capable factory competition pistols available.

X5 Legion vs. Standard P320 Full-Size: The Key Differences
The standard P320 Full-Size is a service pistol. The X5 Legion is a competition pistol built on the same FCU with specific upgrades: the 5” barrel adds velocity and a longer sight radius; the tungsten grip module adds approximately 30% more mass below the bore axis to reduce muzzle flip; the flat-faced trigger has a more consistent pull geometry for competitive shooting; and the slide is optics-ready from the factory. If you’re buying a P320 for duty carry or general use, the standard P320 is the better value. If competition or serious accuracy work is the goal, the X5 Legion is a different tool.
The Tungsten Grip Module
The X5 Legion’s most distinctive feature is its tungsten-infused grip module—a material choice that adds significant weight to the lower portion of the pistol without increasing its overall dimensions. More mass below the bore axis means less felt muzzle rise per shot, which translates directly to faster accurate follow-up shots in competition. The grip module also features an aggressive texture pattern and extended beavertail. It accepts standard P320 grip modules if you prefer a different texture or size, and the same tungsten module is available separately as an aftermarket upgrade for other P320 variants.
Optics and Competition Configuration
The X5 Legion ships with a slide cut for the Sig ROMEO1PRO red dot. The suppressor-height iron sights co-witness through most mini red dot configurations. For USPSA Carry Optics, the X5 Legion is legal and competitive out of the box with a red dot mounted. For Production division, it runs with irons. The 21-round factory magazines give a meaningful capacity advantage in competition stages. No Division-specific modifications are required to run this pistol competitively—it is genuinely stage-ready as delivered.
P320 FCU: The Modular Advantage
The P320’s serialized FCU—the small internal chassis that is legally the firearm—can be moved between grip modules, slides, and barrels. This means an X5 Legion buyer can run the same FCU in a compact carry frame and an X5 competition frame, or change calibers by swapping the slide and barrel. The X5 Legion is the best entry point into the P320 ecosystem for serious shooters because the FCU’s value as a platform compounds with every additional module you acquire.
