Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy Optic & Gear Pac 9mm 5" Match Barrel, Integrated Compensator/Serrated Slide, Viridian RFX-11 Optic, 20 Rd

Just got back from the first range trip with this. I have seen reviews from a couple years back that the action could be sticky due to too much ceracoat on the rails, mag picky, things like that. Newer reviews are better. This one was outstanding. Ran like it needed no break-in! I put three drops of oil on it out of the box (Under the barrel hood and a drop for each slide rail.), took it to the range. 200 rounds. Used the four factory mags plus 4 more aftermarket ones that reviewers recommended. ALL mags ran perfectly. NO feeding issues. I used 150 rounds of fresh 115 grain ball ammo, 5 rounds of really old ball ammo from the locker that needed used. Some was even old Wolf lacquer coated steel cased. All , IMO, 4# trigger right outta the box. controls felt crisp and well fitted. Perfect function and very consistent ejection pattern. I am not yet a fan of optics, as I am an old boomer, but this one makes me want to keep practicing with it. Excellent sights. VERY comfortable to shoot as the comp really did a good job of almost eliminating muzzle flip. I only shot it at 10 yards because I wanted to see how it would print using the green dot. This handgun is a real peach! Springfield has something terrific here to offer. Call me very impressed. And Impact's service was awesome too. They ship very quickly!
