Glock 45

The Glock 45 is the crossover Glock — a full-size Gen 5 frame (longer grip, 17-round capacity) combined with the compact G19 slide (shorter barrel, better concealability). It's the same concept as the G19X but in black, without the lanyard loop, and with the cleaner Gen 5 frame profile. For most shooters who want maximum ergonomics and capacity in a concealable package, the G45 is the answer.

Why the Glock 45 Exists

The G45 was designed around the insight that most shooters shoot better with a full-size grip — more grip surface means better recoil control and faster follow-up shots — but prefer a shorter slide for concealment. The G19 slide is already the most carried Glock slide length. Add the G17-length frame and you get 17+1 rounds of 9mm in a package that many serious carry shooters prefer over both the G17 and the G19.

G45 vs. G19 vs. G19X

The G45 and G19X are functionally the same pistol — full-size frame, compact slide. Key differences: the G45 is black, has no lanyard loop, and uses the clean Gen 5 frame without finger grooves. The G19X is coyote only, has a lanyard loop, and ships with factory night sights. If you want black and a clean frame, get the G45. If you want coyote and factory night sights, get the G19X. The G19 has a compact frame to match its compact slide — lower capacity (15+1) but shorter overall and better for smaller-handed shooters.
