HK VP9CC
The HK VP9CC is Heckler & Koch’s newest concealed carry pistol, delivering the precision and durability of the full-size VP9 family in a micro-compact frame. Announced in April 2026, the VP9CC features a 3.10” cold hammer-forged barrel, an optics-ready slide cut 40% lower than traditional designs for true co-witness, six interchangeable backstraps, and fully ambidextrous controls including HK’s signature paddle magazine release. Available in a base optic-ready configuration ($1,049) or pre-equipped with the Vortex Defender CCW enclosed emitter optic ($1,399), the VP9CC is built to NATO AC/225 standards and carries 10+1 or 12+1 rounds of 9mm.

What Makes the VP9CC Different from the VP9SK?
The VP9CC is a purpose-built micro-compact — not simply a shorter VP9SK. Its slide features a proprietary deep cut that drops the optics mounting height by 40% compared to traditional optic-ready designs, enabling true co-witness with the factory-installed tritium front sight. The VP9CC also ships with an RMSc mounting plate standard, while the optional optic-equipped model comes with a factory-installed Vortex Defender CCW enclosed emitter. The VP9SK remains the mid-size option; the VP9CC is HK’s entry into the micro-compact carry segment occupied by guns like the Glock 43X and SIG P365.
VP9CC Specs: Capacity, Size, and Weight
The VP9CC runs on 10+1 and 12+1 magazines in 9mm. With the 10-round magazine, overall height is 4.4 inches — genuinely compact for all-day carry. Overall length is 6.15 inches, width is 1.1 inches, and the pistol weighs 18.2 oz unloaded. The 3.10” cold hammer-forged, cannon-grade steel barrel uses the same advanced hostile environment coating found on HK’s full-size German-made pistols. The trigger breaks at approximately 5 pounds with a clean reset.
VP9CC Ergonomics: Six Backstraps and Ambidextrous Controls
The VP9CC includes six interchangeable backstraps — Small, Medium, and Large in standard and extended variants — allowing a genuinely custom fit for different hand sizes. The grip features smooth sidewalls for all-day carry comfort with aggressive front and rear texturing where it counts for grip security. All controls are fully ambidextrous: HK’s paddle-style magazine release, ambidextrous slide catch and release, and the brand’s signature bilateral charging supports for easy slide manipulation. A Picatinny rail accommodates lights and lasers.
VP9CC vs. SIG P365 and Glock 43X: Which Micro-Compact Wins?
The VP9CC sits at a higher price point than the SIG P365 or Glock 43X, but brings HK’s German-factory build quality, a better factory optic integration system, and a more customizable grip. The P365 has a slight edge in overall thinness; the Glock 43X benefits from a massive aftermarket. The VP9CC is the choice for shooters who prioritize build quality, out-of-box optics-readiness, and ergonomic customization over price or accessory availability.
Should You Get the VP9CC Optic-Ready or the Vortex Bundle?
If you already own an RMSc-footprint optic or plan to add a specific model, the base $1,049 optic-ready VP9CC is the better buy — the slide cut accepts any RMSc or RMRcc optic via included or accessory plates. The $1,399 Vortex Defender CCW bundle makes sense if you don’t already own a micro red dot: the Defender CCW is an enclosed-emitter optic well suited to concealed carry, and the factory-installed package saves both money and the hassle of separate mounting. Either way, the VP9CC ships with factory-installed tritium front and serrated black rear sights for iron-sight backup.
