Grand Power Stribog
The Grand Power Stribog is a Slovak-designed, American-imported AR-style pistol-caliber carbine that brings several genuinely innovative features to the PCC market — a delayed blowback operating system, a folding Tailhook brace, a last-round bolt hold-open, and availability in 9mm, 10mm Auto, and .45 ACP. The Stribog SP9A3G is the most popular variant, offering 9mm performance in a compact, foldable platform that competes directly with the CZ Scorpion and CMMG Dissent.

Stribog Lineup: SP9A3G, SP10A3 & SP45A3
The SP9A3G is the 9mm variant — the most popular and widely available configuration, with an 8″ threaded barrel, 30-round magazine, Tailhook folding brace, and delayed blowback operation. The SP10A3 chambers 10mm Auto — a meaningful power upgrade over 9mm that puts the Stribog in hunting and defensive territory beyond most PCC competitors. The SP45A3 in .45 ACP rounds out the lineup for shooters who prefer that cartridge. The folding Tailhook brace collapses the overall length dramatically for storage and transport, and the AR-style controls are familiar to most American shooters.
Stribog Delayed Blowback: Why It Matters
Most pistol-caliber carbines use straight blowback operation — a heavy bolt that resists rearward movement until pressure drops, producing more felt recoil and muzzle rise than necessary. The Stribog uses a roller-delayed blowback system that significantly reduces bolt velocity and felt recoil — similar in concept to the CMMG Radial Delayed Blowback system. The practical result is a smoother-shooting PCC that produces noticeably less muzzle flip than competing blowback designs. For a shooter who values shootability in a 9mm carbine and plans to fire high volume, the Stribog’s delayed system is a real advantage.
Stribog vs. CZ Scorpion vs. CMMG Banshee: PCC Comparison
The Stribog competes in the same segment as the CZ Scorpion and CMMG Banshee. Against the Scorpion, the Stribog offers the folding brace and delayed blowback system but has a smaller aftermarket and less holster/accessory compatibility. Against the CMMG Banshee, both use delayed systems but the Banshee has broader caliber availability and a larger domestic manufacturer support network. The Stribog’s 10mm and .45 ACP variants give it a caliber advantage over the Scorpion for buyers who want more power than 9mm. For a unique, refined PCC at a competitive price, the Stribog is a legitimate alternative.
Stribog for Suppressor Use
The SP9A3G’s 8″ threaded barrel (1/2×28) is optimized for suppressor use — the compact overall length with brace folded plus suppressor attached remains manageable, and the delayed blowback system cycles reliably with subsonic loads. Since January 1, 2026, the NFA $200 tax stamp has been eliminated, making a suppressed Stribog build significantly more accessible. The roller-delayed system’s lower bolt velocity also reduces the gas blowback experienced with suppressed blowback PCCs, making it a better suppressor host than most straight blowback alternatives.
