What Is the Glock V-Series?

The "V" designation marks Glock's 2025 model year refresh across their most popular platforms. V-Series pistols share a consistent set of upgrades over previous generations: the Glock Marksman Barrel for improved accuracy, the nDLC (nano Diamond-Like Carbon) finish for superior corrosion and wear resistance, an ambidextrous slide stop lever for left- and right-handed shooters, front slide serrations for press-checks and slide manipulation, and a grip frame without finger grooves for a more universal fit across hand sizes. Most V-Series models also ship with three magazines and optics-ready slides.

Glock V-Series Model Guide

Glock 17V — The full-size 9mm flagship. 4.49" GMB barrel, 17+1 capacity, nDLC finish, optics-ready slide. Everything that makes the G17 the world's most trusted duty pistol, with 2025-spec refinements throughout.

Glock 19V — The compact 9mm workhorse. 4.5" barrel, 15+1 capacity, fixed sights, nDLC finish. The G19V is our top-selling V-Series model — the right size for carry, home defense, and range use alike.

Glock 19XV — The crossover V-Series model. Compact G19 slide on a full-size frame, 4.02" barrel, 17-round magazine, coyote finish with night sights. Glock's most ergonomic carry configuration in the V-Series.

Glock 26V — The subcompact 9mm. 3.43" GMB barrel, 10+1 capacity, nDLC finish, no finger grooves, ambidextrous slide stop, front serrations. The G26V brings the full V-Series treatment to Glock's most concealable 9mm.

Glock 45V — Full-size frame, compact slide, 9mm. 4.02" barrel, ambidextrous slide stop, flared magwell, 17-round magazines. The V-Series version of Glock's most popular crossover format.

Glock 20V — The full-size 10mm V-Series model with MOS optics cut. 4.61" barrel, nDLC finish, 15-round capacity. The definitive choice for bear country carry, hunting, and anyone who wants serious power with optics capability.

Glock 21V — Full-size .45 ACP with MOS optics cut. 4.61" barrel, nDLC finish. Available in 10-round (California-compliant) and 13-round configurations. The .45 ACP workhorse updated for 2025.

Glock 44V — The .22 LR training companion. 4.02" barrel, adjustable sights, 10-round capacity. Same frame as the G19V for direct manual-of-arms transfer. The most affordable way to run Glock trigger reps.

V-Series vs. Gen 5 — What Changed?

The V-Series builds on Gen 5 with several refinements that matter to serious shooters. The nDLC finish is a genuine upgrade over the nPVD/Tenifer finish used on Gen 5 — harder, more corrosion-resistant, and more durable under heavy use. The GMB barrel provides a tighter chamber and improved accuracy over standard Gen 5 barrels. The removal of finger grooves accommodates a wider range of hand sizes. Ambidextrous controls and front serrations round out the package. If you're buying a new Glock today, V-Series is the version to get.
