How the Excalibur Hybrid X Is Built

Excalibur calls the Hybrid X a hybrid recurve compound crossbow. Its custom cam design reduces the width of the crossbow and adds speed that recurve limbs alone cannot reach. The limbs are uncut continuous fiber, and the InnerDrive cams sit protected between them instead of being exposed like conventional compound cams.

Each side uses a single cable with a fixed-position cam and synchronized tracks. Excalibur says this reduces timing issues. The dual-anchor limb tips include a groove for a stringing aid, and the system needs no bow press for service.

Excalibur Hybrid X Specifications

Excalibur rates the Hybrid X at 435 FPS. It is 29.6 inches long and weighs 8.3 pounds without accessories or 10.3 pounds with all included accessories installed. Draw effort is 14 pounds, which is the resistance you feel while cocking, and the draw type is the integrated crank. The crossbow is finished in Mossy Oak Country DNA.

ChargerX Crank, CeaseFire and Trigger

The integrated ChargerX crank cocks the crossbow and also de-cocks it, so you can unload without firing. Excalibur also builds in CeaseFire anti-dry-fire technology. CeaseFire keeps the crossbow from firing unless an arrow is loaded, the safety is off, and the trigger is pulled. It works with Excalibur’s Rhino V-Nock, which gives an audible click when the arrow is seated. Excalibur lists a premium trigger on the Hybrid X.
