Who Makes CRKT Knives?

CRKT is the short name for Columbia River Knife & Tool. The company says it has spent three decades developing knives and tools with outside designers, makers and inventors. Its designer roster includes Ken Onion, Lucas Burnley, Alan Folts, Jesper Voxnaes, Joe Caswell, Kit Carson and Richard Rogers. CRKT names the M16, Minimalist and Pilar as its iconic designs, and the Field Strip, Deadbolt and Kinematic as its own innovations.

CRKT M16 and Tactical Folders

The M16 is a Kit Carson design that CRKT counts among its iconic knives. Versions we carry include spear point and tanto blades from about 3 to 3.9 inches. Handles come in Zytel, glass-reinforced nylon, G10, aluminum and stainless steel. The M16-03DB and M16-04DB pair D2 blades with assisted opening, an IKBS pivot and the Deadbolt lock. CRKT Squid, CEO and Pilar EDC Knives

Lucas Burnley's Squid is a compact EDC folder. It comes as the Squid Compact with a 1.75-inch blade, the standard Squid at about 2.3 inches and the Squid XM at 2.95 inches. Richard Rogers designed the CEO, which CRKT describes as the knife that looks like a pen. It is built as a slim gentleman's folder in Flipper, Thumbstud, Compact and Microflipper sizes. Jesper Voxnaes' Pilar is a frame lock folder, offered here as the Pilar III, Pilar IV and Pilar Large.

CRKT Provoke and the Kinematic Mechanism

The Provoke is Joe Caswell's morphing karambit and the first CRKT knife with the Kinematic mechanism. Press the upper crossbar with your thumb and the blade swings out and locks. A lever at the base of the finger loop folds it closed. We stock D2 aluminum and Grivory versions, a Veff-serrated model, a First Responder with a ceramic glass breaker and a non-sharpened Trainer.

CRKT Minimalist and Fixed Blade Knives

Alan Folts' Minimalist is a small fixed blade with deep finger choils in a short handle, carried in its own sheath. Blade styles include the Drop Point, Spear Point, Katana, Persian, Cleaver, Bowie, Wharncliffe and Nessmuk. Other CRKT fixed blades range from the Bear Claw hawkbill with Veff Serrations to the Clever Girl, Ramadi and HZ6. Tom Veff's serration pattern is made for cutting rope, cord and webbing. CRKT Tomahawks, Axes and EDC Tools

The CRKT Woods line includes the Kangee T-Hawk with a spike and the Chogan T-Hawk with a hammer. Other options are the Nobo T-Hawk, Berserker, Skeggox and Jenny Wren Compact. Heads are 1055 or SK5 carbon steel on Tennessee Hickory or glass-reinforced nylon handles. For pocket utility, CRKT makes the Hangpry titanium pry bar, the Eat'N Tool and the Box Key.
