Citadel Trakr

Citadel Trakr Semi-Auto .22 LR

The semi-auto Trakr feeds from a 10-round detachable magazine and uses an 18-inch barrel threaded 1/2x28. Legacy Sports lists a 1:16 twist and a 36.75-inch overall length. It has a hooded front sight, a rear sight and a Picatinny rail for optics. Finishes include black, US Flag, grayscale US Flag, Flat Dark Earth and OD Green. Some Trakr packages include a 4x32 scope for a ready-to-shoot rimfire setup.

Citadel Trakr Bolt-Action .22 LR

The bolt-action .22 LR Trakr uses an 18-inch carbon-steel barrel, free-floated in an all-polymer stock with AR-style furniture. American Rifleman weighed its test rifle at under 4 pounds, with a trigger breaking just over 5 pounds. The fore-end has M-LOK slots on both sides and the bottom. It feeds from a 10-round detachable magazine and uses a crossbolt safety just ahead of the trigger. The receiver has a 3/8-inch dovetail for rimfire scope mounts, and the fiber-optic rear sight adjusts for windage and elevation.

Citadel Trakr .22 WMR and 17 HMR

The magnum Trakr models are bolt actions in .22 WMR and 17 HMR with threaded barrels and a two-piece Picatinny rail. Legacy Sports lists them without open sights, so plan on a scope or red dot. Impact Guns listings for these rifles show 5-round detachable magazines. The .22 WMR adds energy over .22 LR for small game and pests. The 17 HMR shoots flatter for longer varmint shots. Both come in Flat Dark Earth and OD Green, plus a black synthetic 17 HMR.

Trakr Stocks, Finishes and Furniture

Every Trakr uses a synthetic stock, which helps keep weight down. Color options include black, Flat Dark Earth, OD Green, American Flag and gray Flag patterns. The flag stocks pair with blued or black receivers. The bolt-action .22 LR stock has a fixed 13 5/8-inch length of pull. Its M-LOK fore-end slots accept a sling mount, light or bipod adapter.

Optics and Muzzle Devices on the Trakr

Each Trakr version has an optic mount. The semi-auto has a Picatinny rail, the bolt-action .22 LR has a 3/8-inch dovetail, and the magnum models have a two-piece Picatinny rail. Threaded Trakr barrels accept muzzle devices and rimfire suppressors with a matching thread pitch. The semi-auto .22 LR thread is 1/2x28, so confirm the thread on a magnum model before buying a device. A low-power rimfire scope or a compact red dot suits most Trakr uses.

Choosing a Citadel Trakr Caliber

Choose .22 LR for low-cost practice, plinking and training new shooters. The semi-auto suits quick follow-up shots, while the bolt action encourages deliberate shooting. Choose .22 WMR for more energy on small game and pests at moderate range. Choose 17 HMR for a flatter trajectory on small varmints at longer rimfire distances. .22 LR ammunition generally costs less than either magnum round, which matters for high-volume practice.
