This adapter is also the one to use for custom installations. You can simply drill a hole in the wood or plastic fore-end of any rifle (with sufficient strength) and put the backing plate on the inside, the stud on the outside, allowing you to use any Harris bipod and/or sling combination.

Great for a bipod
Very useful little accessory. I would say this is a must have if you are planning on putting a bipod on your AR or other compatible gun.
