Taurus Tracker
The Taurus Tracker is Taurus’s family of medium-to-large frame revolvers unified by fully adjustable rear sights, ported barrels on most configurations, and the rubber “Ribber Grip” that absorbs recoil and resists weather. Available in .22 LR/.22 WMR, .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum, .410/.45 Colt, and the unique .357 Magnum/9mm convertible 692, the Tracker family covers hunting, field carry, competition, and general use across a wide range of calibers at Taurus’s trademark value price point.

Tracker 627: The .357 Magnum Tracker
The Taurus Tracker 627 is a 7-shot .357 Magnum/.38 Special revolver available in 4″ and 6.5″ barrel lengths. The 7-shot cylinder is a meaningful capacity advantage over the 6-shot .357 revolvers from most competitors—one extra round between reloads matters in field use and hunting scenarios. The 6.5″ barrel provides a long sight radius for accurate shots at distance and produces full .357 Magnum velocity; the 4″ version balances capacity with a more manageable size. All 627 Trackers use a fully adjustable rear sight and Taurus’s ported barrel to reduce muzzle flip during rapid fire. In stainless steel with the rubber Ribber Grip, the 627 handles wet conditions well for field carry.
Tracker 692: The .357 Magnum / 9mm Convertible
The Taurus 692 is one of the most practically versatile revolvers available: a 7-shot revolver that ships with two cylinders—one chambered for .357 Magnum/.38 Special and one for 9mm Auto (using moon clips). This gives the 692 owner access to three calibers in a single platform at the cost of a cylinder swap. Running 9mm in a revolver is practical for shooters who carry a 9mm semi-auto and want ammunition commonality in a backup or field revolver. The 9mm cylinder requires moon clips for reliable ejection, which are included. The .357 Magnum cylinder loads like any standard revolver. The 692 is available in a 2.5″ barrel compact configuration well suited to concealed field carry.
Taurus 44 Tracker: .44 Magnum Hunting Revolver
The Taurus 44 Tracker is a 5-shot .44 Magnum/.44 Special revolver in a compact 2.5″ or ported 4″ barrel configuration. The ported barrel on the 4″ version significantly reduces .44 Magnum muzzle flip, making it more comfortable for sustained shooting or quick follow-up shots. The 44 Tracker is well-suited to handgun hunters who want .44 Magnum capability in a more portable platform than a full-size revolver. The TALO Exclusive stainless configuration with black rubber grip is a popular variant. At 5 shots, the 44 Tracker has less capacity than the 627 and 692 but delivers the energy of the .44 Magnum cartridge in a reasonably portable package.
Tracker 992: The .22 LR / .22 Magnum Dual-Cylinder
The Taurus 992 is a 9-shot revolver that ships with two cylinders—one for .22 LR and one for .22 WMR—making it the highest-capacity .22 revolver in the Tracker family. Available in 4″ and 6.5″ barrel lengths in stainless steel, the 992 is ideally suited for pest control, small game hunting, and general plinking where the extended cylinder swap capability provides both economical .22 LR practice and the extended range of .22 WMR when needed. The 9-shot capacity is a genuine advantage over standard 6-shot .22 revolvers for applications where reloading interrupts a shooting sequence.
Tracker .410 / .45 Colt: Shotshell and Centerfire
The Taurus Tracker in .410 bore and .45 Colt is a 5-shot revolver that handles both 2.5″ and 3″ .410 shotshells as well as .45 Colt centerfire cartridges from its 3″ barrel. The .410 capability is useful for snakes and small pests at very close range; the .45 Colt cylinder provides genuine stopping capability. This configuration appeals to field users who want shotshell versatility in a revolver platform. Note that the Judge Tracker is also in the Taurus lineup—the .45/.410 Tracker and the Judge Tracker share the same dual-caliber concept with slightly different frame sizes and barrel specifications.
