Well worth the price
I prefer a lansky, but after you hit 6 or 8 inches depending on the blade, it isn't happening. When they get that long I have whetstones and such but I prefer to run the edge with a file. Files don't give you a good edge just a good shape. So I was stuck resorting to the whetstone anyway. Until I found these. I hit the blade with the file like the coarse stone, then switch to the large flat one of these. Well it's not flat it's triangular but it's the biggest and has flat sides. I go at it just like I did with the file. It's not quite as good as the lansky as edge precision and polish goes but it's quite close. It's also good for serrated blades, actually it's the only thing I have to sharpen serrated blades with. The round, the slip, and the square stones work great with there different edges. My only complaint is I wish they weren't quite so fragile.
