Riley Defense RAK10 Krink
The Riley Defense RAK10 Krink is an American-made AK47 pistol in 7.62x39mm — an 8.5” black nitride-finished threaded barrel, polymer grip, and 30-round magazine in the Krinkov-inspired compact format that brings AK reliability to the pistol-classified platform. Built on Riley Defense’s Ohio-manufactured receiver with the same mil-spec standards as the full-size RAK47, the RAK10 is the American-made answer to imported AK pistols like the Century Draco family.

Krinkov Format: The Compact AK
The “Krink” designation references the Soviet AKSU-74 (informally “Krinkov”) — the shortened AK developed for vehicle crews and special operations where full-length rifles were impractical. The RAK10’s 8.5” barrel replicates this compact format in a civilian-legal pistol configuration, achieving a short overall length without NFA classification. The 7.62x39mm cartridge at 8.5” retains meaningful terminal performance at defensive distances despite the velocity reduction from the short barrel, maintaining more energy than 5.56 NATO from a comparable short barrel.
Threaded Barrel: Suppressor Ready
The RAK10 ships with a threaded barrel from the factory, ready for suppressor mounting without aftermarket modifications. 7.62x39mm subsonic loads through a quality suppressor produce a hearing-safe report, making the RAK10 a compelling suppressed host for buyers who want AK reliability and the 7.62 cartridge in a suppressed-ready compact format. Since January 1, 2026, the NFA $200 tax stamp has been eliminated. See our suppressors page for compatible 7.62 cans.
Black Nitride Finish: Corrosion Resistance
The RAK10’s black nitride barrel finish provides excellent corrosion resistance and wear durability without the additional cost of chrome lining, maintaining the smooth bore dimensions that accuracy requires. Black nitride has become the standard finish specification for quality modern barrels across multiple rifle platforms for its combination of hardness, slickness, and chemical resistance. For buyers who anticipate use in humid or adverse conditions, the nitride-finished RAK10 provides appropriate protection.
RAK10 vs. Draco and Micro Draco
The RAK10 competes directly with the Century Draco family — the imported Romanian AK pistols that defined the AK pistol market. The Draco carries Romanian military factory heritage; the RAK10 counters with American manufacturing and Riley Defense’s domestic warranty. Both use 7.62x39mm, both are pistol-classified AK platforms. For buyers who want imported AK heritage and the largest aftermarket for AK pistol braces and accessories: Draco. For buyers who want American-made: RAK10. Compare our AK rifles and AR pistols pages for the full compact platform market.
