Hand Held Artillery!
I've waited a long time to get one of these bad boys. It was worth the wait! Shots .45 Colt like a dream, but the .454 Casull is an adrenaline rush. Wow! I'm from Fort Sill,Home of Artillery,so this revolver is right at home! Ruger has not only made an impressive firearm, but a work of art as well. Just love looking at it. THANK YOU IMPACT GUNS!

Ruger Alaskan 454 Casull .... The Compensator
Had to have it. I'm 70 years old but still strong, (I thought). Took this and other guns to the range. I also have an old Vaquero 44 mag. Got a lot of attention with the beautiful Vaquero. Then I shot the Alaskan. I handled the recoil just fine as all the other shooters paused, looking for the canon. Two days later I started aching. The Alaskan had given this old man a whiplash! Wow. What a thrill it is to shoot that gun. Took me two weeks to recover. It's a pleasure to just look at it. Easier on my neck too.

Third one
This is my third Alaskan. Bought the .44 and .454 version at the same time but then sold them. Regretted it immediately. Just bought another .454 Alaskan. I like the .45 Colt because it can be loaded light for cowboy shooting or heavy for Black Bear defense which is the top of the food chain here in Florida. We live near bear territory and see them a few times a year close to our home. Once I got a flat tire at 1am on a dark road running through a National Forest overrun with black bear. While changing the tire I heard rustling in back of me and all I had was my small 9mm. That was enough to realize that I should have something bigger in my car for those times. A .44 would do just fine but what a .44 can stop, a .454 Casull can stop better. Recoild with .45 Colt is easy peasy. Controllable with .454 for a few rounds and the gun is a proven Grizzly killer in Alaska and who knows when the new Ice Age arrives, Polar and Grisly Bear may be in Florida. :) Heck, it is just a fun gun to own, shot and show to friends.

What a great handgun!
I have both the 454 and the 44mag...love them! The recoil is more than manageable. If you don't have one of each...shame on you!

Oofa
The Ruger Alaskan in .454 Casull is downright perfect! It's better than a blonde swedish nympho. Grab one if you can! You will smile ear to ear every time you squeeze the trigger.

Fantastic Firearms...Keeper
Purchase this firearms about 3 years ago from impact guns. Great people, great firearms! Has a nice fell to it, use of two types of cartridge. There are some rough spots that needed smoothing out, but much info out there on how to. I will not sell her, shes a keeper. Thanks Ken Reno NV

Ruger Family
Purchased both Ruger Super Redhawk in 454 Casull and 44 Magnum. Both are very accurate. I also have the SP 101 in 357 mag. have not had any problems shooting 300 grain 454 casull or 250 grain 44 magnum in full load. On one occasion, I shot 50 rounds each 357 magnum, 44 magnum and 70 rounds of 454 Casull without have any issues nor stinging of the hand. You got love the big bang of the big bore Ruger SRH in 2 1/2 barrel.

IT WAS WORTH THE THREE YEAR WAIT!!!
I ordered my Alaskan 454 Casull last week from Impact Guns and received it from the dealer today. The gun is fantastic to hold and just look at how well it is made. I have nothing but positive compliments on customer service when ordered the gun and look forward to shooting this cannon. This purchase will probably be my last as nothing else could ever compare!!!

must have
love the gun,, saw a picture and had to have one. the non-fluted cylinder is beautiful and a piece of art. The handle is ergonomically correct and fits my smaller hands, recoil is controllable and a blast to shoot. it'll keep away the grizzlies when walking the dangerous trails:). if you run out of bullets it doubles as a club....SOLID gun
