Excellent Gun for a Walk in the Mountains
I carry a glock mdl 23 for personal protection. However, when my wife and I hike in the mountains we need something a little stronger. My Ruger New Super Blackhawk .44mag is perfect for the job. It is extremely accurate, consistently hits whatever I point it at. The action is smooth and the trigger pull is light. It took down a feral bore with one shot during a visit to louisiana. I'm very glad that I bought it.

Hand Carried Thunder and Lightening!
Most excellent pistol! I have used mine now for over ten years, and it has never let me down. I use it both as a packing pistol and as a deer hunting pistol, and the occasional feral pig that comes my way in the woods all get a taste of 250 grains or more of lead SWC rounds! It also makes a great truck gun, and I have even carried mine concealed before while in parks and such areas where bear can be a problem. The caliber is large enough to handle anything that walks on the continent of North America too, so you need fear nothing and no one when you have this thing around! Fit and finish is excellent, trigger pull is lousy, (thanks Trial Lawyer's Association), sights are great for factory sights, and are easily modified to suit your personal preferences. The only gripe I have ever had about this gun is the stocks are too wide at the bottom and too narrow at the top, so the gun rolls far too much in your hand on firing, but I easily rectified that problem with set of homemade stocks more to my liking. Bottom line: You won't be disappointed!
