Newington, N.H. – SiG Sauer Inc. congratulates Team SIG Captain, Max Michel, for his impressive performance in the Carry-Optics Division over the last few weeks. Max decisively won his division at the USPSA Area 7 Championship, and took home another world speed shooting championship at the 2018 Steel Challenge with a new world-record breaking time.
“We are thrilled with Max’s achievements in the Carry-Optics Division as he continues to rack-up the first place wins, and break his own records,” said Tom Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales, SIG SAUER, Inc. “Max is raising the bar in competitive shooting and proving that SIG SAUER pistols, optics, and ammunition are the equipment of champions.”
To claim first place at the USPSA Steel Challenge in Talladega, Alabama, June 13th – 17th, Max competed through eight courses of fire, each with five steel targets ranging in size and distance. With a minimum of 195 rounds and 31 draws from the holster required, Max used his SIG P320 X5 and Romeo3 Red Dot optic to set a new world record of 81.38 seconds. “The carry-optics division is really the perfect match for my skills and the SIG SAUER product line. From the pistol, to the optics, and even the ammunition we have worked in partnership to develop the products that deliver these wins,” added Team SIG Captain, Max Michel. “This success would not be possible without the backing of everyone at SIG SAUER and these wins and records are ours to share.”
Following these first-place finishes Max continues his over 2-year streak of carry-optics first place wins. Max will compete again at the IPSC Nationals in Frostproof, FL.
