Mossberg MC2sc
The Mossberg MC2sc is Mossberg’s sub-compact 9mm carry pistol—an 11+1 capacity micro-compact with a flat-face trigger, optics-ready slide, and fully ambidextrous controls including a reversible magazine release and ambidextrous slide release. Built on a polymer frame with a stainless steel slide and sub-1” width, the MC2sc competes directly with the SIG P365, Springfield Hellcat, and Taurus GX4 in the micro-compact carry segment. Mossberg backs it with a Lifetime Limited Warranty and the brand recognition of America’s oldest family-owned firearms manufacturer.

MC2sc vs. MC1sc: The Mossberg Compact Family
Mossberg produces two carry pistols: the MC1sc (single-stack, 7+1 or 8+1 capacity) and the MC2sc (double-stack, 11+1 flush). The MC1sc is the thinner, lighter option for deep concealment; the MC2sc provides more capacity in a slightly wider package. For most carry buyers, the MC2sc’s 11+1 capacity in a still-concealable sub-1” wide frame is the more practical configuration. The MC1sc is for buyers who specifically prioritize minimum thickness over capacity.
Fully Ambidextrous Controls
The MC2sc’s ambidextrous controls are a genuine differentiator in the micro-compact segment. The magazine release is reversible for left-hand or right-hand preference. The slide release is ambidextrous with levers on both sides. For left-handed shooters who have struggled with the right-side-only controls of most micro-compact pistols, the MC2sc offers factory-native left-hand functionality without modification. For right-handed shooters, the ambidextrous layout has no practical downside and provides flexibility in retention scenarios where off-hand operation might be necessary.
Optics-Ready Slide
The MC2sc ships optics-ready with a slide cut compatible with the Shield RMSc footprint and adapter plates for other popular micro red dot footprints. The cut is factory-standard—no aftermarket slide milling required. For carry shooters who want a red dot on a micro-compact at the MC2sc’s price point, the factory optics cut delivers that capability without additional investment. The included suppressor-height sights provide a usable backup sight picture through or around a mounted optic.
Flat-Face Trigger and Shooting Feel
The MC2sc uses a flat-face trigger similar to those found on competition pistols and premium carry pistols at higher price points. The flat surface provides more consistent finger placement shot to shot compared to a curved trigger, which many shooters find improves accuracy and trigger pull consistency. The pull weight is approximately 5.5–6 lbs with a positive reset — appropriate for carry use without being so light as to create safety concerns.
