At the core of every RA-9 is a serialized fire-control chassis — the legal firearm — that drops into interchangeable polymer or aluminum grip modules and accepts different slides. This is the same modular philosophy behind the Ruger RXM and SIG P365: buy the chassis once, and change the pistol’s size, grip material, or features later instead of buying a whole new gun. RA-9 vs. RA-9S vs. RA-9 Sport: Choosing Your Variant

The standard RA-9 runs a 4.25” barrel with a textured polymer grip module, an optics-ready slide with an included RMR adapter plate, ambidextrous slide stops, and a three-slot Picatinny rail. The RA-9S steps up to a 4.75” barrel with a lightened slide and a flat-faced trigger for a lighter, crisper pull. The RA-9 Sport is the competition-oriented variant: a 4.75” barrel, an orange aluminum grip module, a fiber-optic front sight, an adjustable target rear sight, a metal magwell, and metal magazine baseplates. All three share the same chassis, optics-ready slide cut, and CZ 75-pattern magazines.

Rather than a proprietary magazine, the RA-9 uses the CZ 75 double-stack pattern — one of the most widely produced magazine formats in the industry, with factory and aftermarket options in multiple capacities readily available. Every RA-9 ships with two 17-round magazines.

Every RA-9 slide ships optics-ready with an included RMR adapter plate, so mounting a red dot doesn’t require a separate milling job or a trip to a gunsmith. Combined with the ambidextrous slide stops and accessory rail shared across the line, the RA-9 is built to be optic- and light-ready from the first range trip.
