LMT ION
The LMT ION is a family of four modular rifle suppressors: the ION 30, ION 30K, ION K, and ION LT. LMT Advanced Technologies makes them, and LMT rates each as full-auto capable under a SOCOM stress protocol. Three models cover calibers from .17 through .300 Win Mag, while the ION K is built for 5.56. This guide compares weight, length, and thread size for each LMT suppressor, so you can pick the right model.

The LMT ION Suppressor Family
LMT Advanced Technologies is the suppressor arm of LMT Defense. It began in 2020 and is located in Eldridge, Iowa. The ION line grew out of its LINK30 belt-fed machine gun suppressor design.
All four ION models share a 1.74-inch diameter, a removable base and cap, and a user-serviceable build. LMT describes a flow-through design that reduces back pressure to both the shooter and the firearm. Impact Guns lists the ION 30, ION 30K, ION K, and ION LT.
ION 30, ION 30K, ION K, and ION LT Compared
The ION 30 supports calibers from .17 through .300 Win Mag. LMT lists it at 19.3 ounces and 7.14 inches with the cap and base installed. LMT describes it as the balanced model of the family.
The ION 30K covers the same .17 through .300 Win Mag range in a shorter body. LMT calls it the shortest multi-caliber ION and lists 16 ounces and 5.75 inches with the cap and base.
The ION K is a dedicated 5.56 suppressor. LMT lists it at 15.7 ounces and 5.76 inches with the cap and base, and describes it as the smallest and most compact ION.
The ION LT is the longest and lightest of the four. LMT lists 14.7 ounces and 8.14 inches with the cap and base, and it supports the same .17 through .300 Win Mag range as the ION 30.
How the ION Is Built
LMT builds the ION 30, ION 30K, and ION K from high-temperature nickel and steel alloys. The ION LT uses Inconel, stainless steel, and titanium alloys, an alloy mix LMT cites for durability and reduced weight.
LMT lists a service life of at least 30,000 rounds at varied firing schedules, or the life of the barrel in full-auto use. The removable base and cap let you service the suppressor and change how it mounts.
LMT states that its patented alternating baffle geometry and obstruction-free blast chamber improve reliability on semi-auto and full-auto rifles. Those are the maker's design claims, so compare specifications for your own host rifle.
ION Mounts and Thread Sizes Explained
Two different threads appear in the ION line. The suppressor attaches to its mount through a HUB-compatible interface, which LMT describes as the industry-standard 1.375x24 HUB mounting system. Your barrel thread is a separate size, set by the muzzle mount.
The ION 30, ION 30K, and ION LT include a 5/8x24 single port muzzle mount. The ION K includes a 1/2x28 mount. Each model includes a Regulator Mount Adaptor pre-installed and works with third-party HUB mounts.
LMT also offers HUB direct thread mounts in 5/8x24 and 1/2x28, and lists KeyMo compatibility with the appropriate adapter. Browse Suppressor Parts and Muzzle Devices for LMT mounts and muzzle devices.
Choosing the Right LMT ION
Start with caliber. Choose the ION K if you shoot only 5.56. Choose the ION 30, ION 30K, or ION LT if you want one suppressor across calibers that include .308 Win and .300 Win Mag.
Then weigh length against weight. The ION 30K and ION K add the least length. The ION LT weighs the least but is the longest, and the ION 30 is the heaviest. Finally, match the muzzle thread on your barrel to the included mount, 5/8x24 or 1/2x28.
