Auto-Ordnance
Auto-Ordnance is America’s premier manufacturer of WWII-era firearm reproductions, producing the Thompson semi-automatic carbine, the 1911A1 pistol, and the M1 Carbine — three of the most historically significant American firearms ever made — in current production with period-correct construction. A Kahr Firearms Group brand, Auto-Ordnance builds every product in the USA and backs each with the historical authenticity of a manufacturer that produced these same firearms under government contract during World War II. Auto-Ordnance also produces limited-edition commemorative AR-15 rifles, including the “Commander in Chief” in Burnt Bronze and Black Cerakote, available in limited production runs.

Thompson Submachine Gun: The Tommy Gun
The Thompson M1 is the most iconic firearm in the Auto-Ordnance lineup — the WWII-configuration semi-automatic reproduction of the legendary Tommy gun. The M1 variant features a 16.5-inch smooth barrel, 30-round box magazine, fixed rear aperture sight, and blued steel with American walnut furniture. The 2026 Lightweight M1 adds a high-strength aluminum alloy receiver reducing weight by approximately 5 lbs. The 1927A-1 is the pre-war commercial configuration with finned barrel, Cutts compensator, and drum magazine compatibility. The new 1927A3 brings the Tommy gun profile to .22 LR for a lightweight, low-cost shooting option. Thompson SBR and pistol configurations are also available for buyers who want the most compact format.
1911A1: The WWII Service Pistol
The Auto-Ordnance 1911A1 is a Government-model single-action pistol built to original WWII military specifications. Available in Parkerized, blued, and stainless finishes in .45 ACP, plus a 9mm Government model for higher capacity and lighter recoil. The Parkerized 1911A1 is the most historically accurate production 1911 available — finished in the same matte gray Parkerizing used on wartime contract pistols, with GI fixed sights, short trigger, and flat mainspring housing. Special editions honor specific WWII units and campaigns. Auto-Ordnance produced 1911A1 pistols under government contract during WWII, giving the brand direct historical continuity with the original.
M1 Carbine: America’s Most-Produced WWII Firearm
The Auto-Ordnance M1 Carbine reproduces the most-manufactured American small arm of WWII — over 6 million produced for Allied forces. Chambered in .30 Carbine with an 18-inch barrel and 15+1 capacity, the M1 Carbine weighs just 5.4 lbs in standard walnut or birch stock configurations. The AOM150 Paratrooper model adds a period-correct folding metal stock that reduces overall length to 25.75 inches folded, reproducing the M1A1 issued to airborne troops. At 5.4 lbs the M1 Carbine is one of the lightest centerfire semi-automatic carbines available in any configuration.
The Auto-Ordnance WWII Collection
Owning all three Auto-Ordnance WWII platforms — Thompson M1, 1911A1, and M1 Carbine — creates a complete representation of the American infantryman’s arsenal from 1941–1945. The Thompson covered close-range assault; the 1911A1 was the standard officer and NCO sidearm; the M1 Carbine armed support troops, paratroopers, and tank crews. Auto-Ordnance is the only manufacturer currently producing all three in period-correct specifications
