PMAG Ranger Plates ? a great little addition

Posted by Mongo on Dec 20th 2010

MAGPUL RANGER PLATE 5.56 NATO 3 PACK OD PMAG Ranger Plates are a great addition to any standard GI-issue style AR/M16/M4 Magazine. Tough and unyielding, they make drawing a magazine from a pouch faster and more secure ? whether for tactical reloading or competition. The plate replaces the standard floor plate in 30 round magazines. Built of tough polymer, they are rock solid when slid onto the bottom of the mag. They come in a variety of tactical colors ? black, flat dark earth, OD Green, and foliage. You can use different color ranger plate to differentiate b/w various ammo loads in your mags ? i.e., black plates for standard FMJ loads, OD for hollow points, flat dark earth for tracers, or some other similar combination. (Just don?t use OD & Foliage to differentiate loads ? depending on the light and the speed of reloading - the colors are too close together to make this safely work.) Once you use ranger plates, you?ll never go back to plain GI mags ever again. I wish I had had these plates in Iraq ? would have worked a lot better than 550 cord and 100-mile-an-hour tape.
