About Windham Weaponry

Windham Weaponry was founded in 2011 by Richard Dyke, the former owner of Bushmaster Firearms, after Bushmaster was sold and production moved out of Maine. Dyke and a team of experienced Maine gun workers restarted AR-15 production in Windham, Maine — the same location where Bushmaster had built its reputation. The result is a company that builds AR-15s with the institutional knowledge, tooling heritage, and craftsmanship of one of America's most storied AR manufacturers, now under new ownership with renewed focus on quality.

Why Windham Weaponry Stands Out

American-made, no exceptions — Every Windham Weaponry rifle is built in Windham, Maine. Receivers, barrels, and components are American-made — a genuine differentiator in a market where "assembled in the USA" often means imported parts with domestic final assembly.

Lifetime warranty — Windham backs every rifle with a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser. This reflects confidence in their manufacturing quality and provides meaningful long-term value.

Military-spec components throughout — Windham uses mil-spec components including chrome-lined barrels on most configurations, properly staked gas keys, and tight quality control standards inherited from the Bushmaster production era.

Popular Models

SRC (Sport Rifle Carbine) — Windham's standard carbine. 16" M4-profile barrel, 6-position stock, and carbine-length gas system. The foundational Windham AR-15 and one of the best values in the American-made AR segment.

CDI (Carbon Dioxide Impingement) — Windham's mid-length gas system configuration for shooters who prefer the smoother cycling of mid-length over carbine-length gas. Better for suppressed use and perceived to be gentler on the BCG over time.

MPC (Multi-Purpose Carbine) — Windham's duty/law enforcement configuration with enhanced components for professional users. Increased attention to finish and components compared to the standard SRC.

Windham vs. Other American AR Brands

Windham competes in the premium-value segment — above PSA and Anderson in component quality and finish, below Daniel Defense and BCM in price. For buyers who specifically want American-made components (not just American assembly), Windham is one of the purest options available. The institutional knowledge from the Bushmaster era and the Maine production heritage give Windham a quality story that's hard to match at its price point.
