SureFire sells their own CR123A batteries, which are manufactured to tight tolerances to prevent voltage spikes that can damage high-output LEDs. For any SureFire light used in a defensive role, replace batteries annually and keep a supply of fresh CR123A cells on hand. Never use rechargeable CR123A cells in SureFire lights unless specifically approved — the voltage profile differs from primary lithium cells.
