Holosun 507K vs. EPS Carry: Best Holosun for Concealed Carry

The 507K is Holosun’s compact open-emitter sight designed specifically for micro pistols like the Glock 43X, P365, and similar carry guns. It uses the K-footprint (also called Shield RMSc footprint) and offers Holosun’s full feature set — solar failsafe, multi-reticle, shake awake — in a sub-compact package. The EPS Carry is a closed-emitter design in the same footprint, protecting the emitter from debris and moisture that open-emitter sights are vulnerable to. For carry in harsh conditions or wet environments, the EPS Carry is the more durable choice. For a lighter, lower-profile option, the 507K wins.

Holosun 507C vs. 509T: Full-Size Pistol Red Dots Compared

The 507C (and its variants like the 507C X2 and 507 Comp) uses the popular RMR footprint, making it compatible with most full-size and compact pistol slides cut for Trijicon. It’s one of the most popular carry and duty optics available thanks to its combination of features and price. The 509T is a closed-emitter design in the same footprint — the enclosed lens protects the emitter entirely, a major advantage for duty and tactical use where reliability under adverse conditions is paramount. If the pistol will see daily carry or duty use, the 509T’s closed emitter is worth the premium.

Holosun Multi-Reticle System: Circle, Dot, or Both

Most Holosun sights offer three reticle options via the Multi-Reticle System (MRS): a 2 MOA dot only, a 32 MOA circle only, or both simultaneously. The 2 MOA dot is the precision option — ideal for target shooting or longer-range work. The 32 MOA circle is faster to acquire, making it excellent for close-range defensive use. The combination of both gives you the circle for fast acquisition and the dot for precise shot placement — the setting most shooters land on after experimenting. All three are selectable with a simple button press.

Holosun Solar Failsafe and Battery Life

Holosun’s Solar Failsafe technology uses an integrated solar cell to power the sight in bright conditions, preserving battery life dramatically. Most Holosun sights run 50,000+ hours on a single CR2032 battery — that’s over five years of continuous use. The Shake Awake feature puts the sight into sleep mode when stationary and wakes it instantly when the pistol moves, extending battery life further without sacrificing readiness. This combination makes Holosun sights among the most reliable for carry use, where a dead battery is a critical failure point.

Holosun AEMS and LPVO: Rifle Optics

Holosun’s rifle optic lineup includes the AEMS (Advanced Enclosed Micro Sight) for AR-15 and tactical rifle use — a closed-emitter design with a large viewing window optimized for two-eyes-open shooting. For magnified applications, Holosun’s LPVO lineup offers 1–6x and 1–10x options with illuminated reticles competitive with optics at twice the price. See our full scopes page for the complete Holosun rifle optic selection alongside Vortex, Trijicon, and Burris.

Holosun Compatibility: Which Sight Fits Your Pistol

Holosun uses three main footprints: the RMR footprint (507C, 509T — fits most full-size optics-ready slides), the K footprint / Shield RMSc (507K, EPS Carry — fits micro carry pistols), and the 407C / 507C footprint which covers most modern optics-ready handguns. Always verify your pistol’s optics cut before ordering. Popular pairings: 507K or EPS Carry on the P365 and G43X; 507C or 509T on the G19, P320, and Springfield Echelon.
