Update #6: List of State Gun Store Closures

We will be automatically cancelling orders for guns being shipped to dealers in states or areas that are now not processing background checks or where dealers are restricted from operating. If there are closures in your area, or something below is inaccurate, please let us know.

Closures and Restrictions

New Jersey: suspended gun background check system.  Gun sales have stopped.

Pennsylvania: Supreme Court denied a challenge to stave off closure of gun retailers following the governor's stay-at-home order.  Gun stores are not deemed essential.

New York: list of "essential businesses" does not include gun stores-- many are forced to close.

California, LA County: county sheriff has closed gun stores. 


Other State Information - if your state is not listed, most likely you are OK.

Arizona:  no explicit ban and FFL's are not listed as an entertainment facility.

Connecticut:  gun stores may continue to operate despite stay-at-home orders.  Listed as "essential".

Delaware:  hunting and trapping business to remain open, sporting goods stores to close.

Georgia:  State statute prohibits the state from limiting the sale of firearms and ammunition.

Idaho:  Shelter-in-place and "non-essential" business closures-- but gun stores are essential.  Our store in Boise is open.

Illinois:  Firearms and ammunition retailers are listed as "essential business".

Kentucky:  No restrictions.

Louisiana:  Essential business- no restrictions.

Nevada:  In general FFLs are not deemed essential.  However, a 2007 state law prohibits NV from imposing additional restrictions on firearms and ammo sale during a state of emergency.  Unclear at this time.

Ohio:  gun stores allowed to operate despite stay-at-home orders. Essential business.

Oregon:  FFLs not deemed essential, but not asked to close.

Rhode Island: shooting ranges are "non-essential" and must close.  No other information on gun stores and gun/ammo transfers.

Tennessee: State statute prohibits the state from limiting sales of guns and ammo.

Virginia:  Statute 44-146.15 prohibits the governor or any other authority from restricting the sale of guns and ammo.

West Virginia:  FFLs are not deemed essential, but are not asked to close.
