G43X vs. G43 vs. G48: What’s the Difference?
Glock 43 — The original slim 9mm. Short grip, short slide. 6+1 rounds. Maximum concealability but limited capacity.
Glock 43X — Short grip of the G43, longer 3.41" slide of the G48. 10+1 rounds. The sweet spot — most of the concealability with significantly more capacity. Our top recommendation in the G43 family.
Glock 48 — Full-length grip and slide. 10+1 rounds. Most shootable of the three but slightly less concealable than the G43X.
MOS Variant
The G43X MOS adds a factory-cut optics-ready slide, making it compatible with miniature red dot sights like the Holosun 507K and Shield RMSc. Running a red dot on a carry gun has moved from competition to mainstream, and the G43X MOS is Glock’s answer. Highly recommended for buyers who want optics capability in a slim carry package.
Carry Considerations
The G43X’s slim profile (1.1" width) makes it ideal for appendix carry and IWB holster use where a double-stack pistol prints noticeably. The Shield Arms S15 magazine upgrade (sold separately) allows the G43X to accept 15-round magazines — giving you G19-level capacity in a G43X-sized package.
