Riley RAK Classical AK47 7.62x39mm 16.25" Barrel, Heat-Treated Mil-Spec Stamped Receiver, Teak Butt Stock, Bakelite Pistol Grip, 30 Rd

A beautiful weapon that I purchased in 2019 for considerably less $$$. Both the wood furniture and the black oxide finish are prone to marring if you aren’t careful, but it’s minimal and I consider it just a consequence of using it. I doubt I own a gun that doesn’t show some blemishes from use. Being a half blind arthritic old fart it’s hard to speak as to accuracy other than I can consistently ping 10 inch steel at 100 yds. As far as reliability goes this weapon is a vast improvement over gen 1 including the forged trunion (which everyone knows about, but I am obliged to mention). Break down for cleaning and reassembly is easily done without tools. In three years of ownership I’ve never had a single issue with it. No failure to feed, no failure to eject, no misfires, no light strikes and so on. As far as ammo goes, I’ve never been picky. I run the least expensive stuff I can buy through it and have never put anything through it but steel. Like the weapon itself, the steel rounds have never been a problem. I figured, “Hey, it’s an AK-47. It’s built for steel.” and the weapon is perfectly happy with it. It’s a reliable bare bones gun that is fun to shoot. I can’t say it’s the favorite gun in my safe because it seems whichever gun I’m holding in my hands is my favorite at that moment, but I’ve never had any regrets buying this gun.

The RAK47-C is the best American made 7.63x39 out there for the money. The price obviously has gone up by several hundreds of dollars since I bought mine, but it is without a doubt a durable, quality AK platform if you want an original look, feel & dependability. Highly recommend.
