Marlin 1895: Tried And True

The Marlin 1895 are quick pointing, fast-handling, classic styling rifles chambered for big bore rounds of .45-70 Govt. They're hard-hitting, big game-dropping powerhouses. They're available in various finishes and textures ranging from black walnut to laminated hardwood. They have options available for you whether you prefer stainless steel or a polished blued finish.

We're going to be taking a closer look at the standard Marlin Model 1895 SBL. The most identifying feature about this model is the Black/Gray laminated hardwood pistol-grip stock and forend, with a stainless steel metal finish. This model also has cut checkering, deluxe recoil pad, and nickel-plated swivel studs.
It's is a lever action with a big-loop finger lever for easy cycling. Each 1895 comes standard with a side-ejection port. This model has a stainless steel receiver, barrel, lever, trigger guard plate, magazine tube, and loading gate. The Marlin 1895 SBL also features the manual crossbolt hammer-block safety that has been a Marlin standard since 1984.
Like many other great features, the 1895 SBL includes a XS LeverRail with Ghost ring rear sight and front sight post.

Seen above is the stainless steel barrel, and front sight post.
The barrel is an 18.5" stainless steel barrel with deep-cut Ballard-type rifling (6 grooves), and a 1:20" twist rate.
