The TASER C2 Electronic Control Device (ECD) is the most powerful less than lethal option available. TASER C2's are more than "stun gun". TASER C2 ECD's fire probes close to 95mph that pierce the skin or clothing of an attacker, sending electirical signals to the muscles. These signals override the central nervous system, causing immediate lock up of the muscles for 30 seconds or more immobilizing any attacker. TASER C2 ECD's have an effective range of up to 15 feet. We recommend that when using a TASER C2 ECD in self defense, set it on the ground and escape to safety. TASER International will replace the TASER C2 ECD free of charge, with the same product or a like product, at TASER International’s option, if the owner provides, within one year following the event, the following information to TASER International:
a copy of the official police report documenting the incident, the use of the product in self-defense, and the loss of the product proof of purchase of the product (receipt, purchase order, or invoice) check or a credit authorization for the shipping and handling fees Purchaser’s name, physical address (no P.O. Boxes allowed), and phone number of where to send the replacement. Customer is responsible for any expedited shipping or handling costs for the replacement ECD. A replacement product assumes the remaining warranty of the original product or 90-days from the date of replacement, whichever provides longer coverage to the Purchaser.
TASER International’s Lifetime Replacement Guarantee is not available or applicable: (a) on any international (Non-United States) sales or uses of TASER Citizen Products; or (b) to any Purchaser who uses the ECD for a commercial purpose.

A TASER can (in many situations) be taken places where a firearm cannot. A TASER is not considered a firearm by the ATF but it may be classified as a ‘weapon’ depending on the state, county or city. TASER will block activation of ECD’s to addresses within the following states/cities: NY, NJ, WI, MI, RI, MA, HI, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC. TASER ownership/use is prohibited in these states, except by Law Enforcement and in some cases, Private Security. Other cities may have additional restrictions or permits required to carry concealed. We encourage buyers to check their local laws prior to purchasing a TASER C2 ECD.

Buyer must be 18 years or older and a non-felon U.S. resident to activate any consumer/civilian TASER ECD. TASER patches into a database of public records through Lexus Nexus to verify felony records. The application takes about 5 minutes to complete online and the results are usually available upon completion. In some cases, when the public records information is either incomplete or contradictory, TASER may ask that the customer provide a copy of their Driver’s License, Passport, or other form of identification. TASER ECD buyers are encouraged to check their local laws on the ownership and use of electronic control devices and stun guns in their area. TASER ECD sales are prohibited to residents of NY, NJ, WI, MI, RI, MA, and HI.
Once the background check is completed (approx. 5 minutes), you will be given a 5 digit code to enter through the firing button of the C2 ECD. This process will ‘activate’ their TASER C2. You will also be sent an email with directions on how to enter their code.
