Easy to use, safe and reliable, this single shot .22 is the ideal first gun for beginners and can be enjoyed by experienced young shooters as well. We fitted the Mini Bolt with Williams Fire Sights -- an illuminated two green dot adjustable rear sight and a contrasting red front sight. They allow for a simple, consistent sight picture. It’s rare indeed to find sights of this quality on any youth rifle. A beavertail forearm offers a comfortable and firm grip. The one-piece bolt delivers the extremely smooth action all Henry rifles are famous for. And, for enhanced accuracy, the stainless steel barrel has eight-groove rifling.
The manually operated safety allows the gun to be carried safely when cocked and to load and unload with peace of mind. Overall length is 30 1/4", barrel length is 16 1/4" and length of pull is 11 1/2". The Mini Bolt weighs a scant 3 1/4 pounds, perfect for a youngster’s smaller stature. And we didn’t forget the great looks that young people appreciate. The stainless steel elements contrast dramatically with the black stock and illuminated sights. Classic styling includes wraparound checkering, pistol grip and European style bolt handle.

    Fails to eject spent casings!

Posted by William Martinez on Apr 28th 2019

Should have payed attention to more recent reviews that address this issue. After initial cleaning and light oil--WILL NOT EJECT SPENT CASNGS. What a disappointment for me and my grandfather--my first 22 rifle. Used quality CCI 22LR Mini Mag, Standard Velocity and Quiet 22. 86 rounds fired with only 3 or 4 spent casings ejected. Look elsewhere until this issue is remedied.

    Read Reviews e;lsewhere too!

Brand new Henry Minibolt right out of the box--after initial cleaning and light oil--WON'T EJECT SPENT CASINGS! I just wish I would have paid better attention to reviews on the WEB about this issue. Used quality CCI 22LR Mini Mags, Standard Velocity, and Quiet 22. 86 rounds fired and only 3 or 4 spent casings ejected. Have contacted Henry but after revisiting reviews elsewhere I think I just wasted $250. I am no gunsmith and my only other option may be to try some of the fixes mentioned on the WEB.

    Henry Mini Bolt Review

Posted by Bax* on Dec 19th 2014

I am a die hard Henry fan and love their leaver guns. They truly make great AMERICAN quality firearms. I picked up the Mini Bolt for my 6.5 year old daughter to start learning how to shoot. After comparing the rifle to a Cricket and Savage Rascal, I decided to spend a fair amount more on the Henry purely due to the Fire Sights. They make so much more sense for a child to use compared to a peep sight that is mounted on the Cricket and Savage. LOP and heft seem right for a child and the grip is small enough for a child to get their hands around the rifle better than a 10/22 which means they are much more comfortable to hold and squeeze the trigger. My only real criticism for the rifle (although the Cricket also has the same fault) is de-cocking the bolt with a live round. Although an adult can accomplish this, I am not entirely confident that my daughter could de-cock the bolt with a live round in it. The only way I can honestly envision a child being able to unload this rifle after cocking would be to fire the rifle in a safe direction. Build quality is absolutely higher than other youth single shots and the stainless steel parts definitely make the rifle look sharp.

    Best youth 22 available

Posted by Red Dirt on Nov 24th 2014

Yes, I am in love. This was a perfect transition gun from the youth BB guns my 4 year old started with. Single shot makes it affordable to shoot-yes they also like to shoot the 10/22s with 3x9. This is a better gun for them cause they learn to use the williams sights, and the size matched their 4 year old body sizes. They have continued to grow and it still is their favorite single shot to shoot. They can easily hold it up and shoot standing instead of needing help like they do with the 10/22. Six out of 5 star rating from me. Accurate and reliable

    Great Gun

Posted by Dave on Jan 1st 2013

Have had the mini bolt for years now and kids have out grown it. It is still one of their favorite guns to shoot because it is so accurate. have put thousands of rounds through it with only a rare extraction failure.

    Henry Mini Bolt

Posted by 3 amigos on Jun 26th 2011

Nice little gun. My boys put about 400 rounds through it last week with no problems. Had to adjust the sight to about the max hieght, which makes it stick up significantly. That is the only reason for a rating of four.
