  • Colt m4 "Impulse buy"

Posted by DunRanull on Nov 20th 2017

Yep, got it one sale Black Friday cuz it was on the shelf and I had the cash in pocket. Had it NOT been a Colt I wouldnt have given it a second thought.
It's got all the Mag-Pul furniture and all it needs is some kind of optic, preferably one that DOESNT require batteries. I do love the rifle as-is BUT am leery of the longer shots AND the fact that the 5.56 just doesnt get the UMMMPH out of that short barrel. With the shorter shots and heavier bullets, OK.. Otherwise I prefer the 20" barrel. Old Fashioned, old dog, new tricks, as they say..
Godwilling and the crick don't rise, my next will be an AR15A4.. a clone of the USMC rifle which the Corps is foolishly replacing with the M4. Just sayin.

  • Love my M4, it is a awesome feeling gun.

I love this gun, but I am having trouble finding a detachable bipod that snaps on bayonet port. and no one has a dust cover. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Waited to get the LE6920...found it at one of my favorite gun shops. My wife "made me get it". added an Eotec and G33 magnifier with a Veridian x5L tactical green laser and Protac HL2 tactical light...SO MUCH FUN TO SHOOT...NEVER QUITS.

The Colt 6920 is the gold standard of all AR's. There are some other AR's that are great weapons such as the FN-15, Stag, Smith & Wesson MP-15, and Bushmaster. I would not put those weapons down at all. However, I have found that all excellent AR's are always compared to Colt. That tells me all I need to know and that is why I purchased the Colt 6920. I have not be disappointed at all and appreciate Colt's superb workmanship.

  • Excellent choice for the $$$

I own a couple of Patriot Ordnance rifles, a P415 and P308. Both have nice optics, a light, and forward grips. They are extremely nice rifles, but are a bit heavier due to being piston gas systems, as well as the accessories mounted on them.

Enter the Colt 6920. I was looking for a KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid)carbine, a no frills, lightweight, totally reliable rifle. The 6920 fills this role perfectly. I removed the Magpul MBUS from mine and installed a Colt A2 removable carry handle instead. Just a personal preference for the intended purpose of this rifle.

The Colt 6920 is very well balanced, and mine has been totally reliable. When comparing Colt to other AR's in it's price range, the Colt wins hands down. It is by definition Mil Spec. They use Carpenters steel for the bolt, all the correct parts are staked as needed, magnetic particle tested, etc.

The 6920 is a semi auto version of the military's M4, with an extra 1.5" of barrel length. It is a combat rifle, not a "Sporter" rifle like so many other company's offerings in the $600-$1000 range.

Well, my only remorse is; I can't give her a 10.
Anyway, I have made a couple modifications,
however, this is with out a doubt,
the Gold standard of AR 15's.....
Keep her clean, keep her close, like any woman,
(wife, mother, child), spoil them, tell them everyday, oh I love you.

  • Why haven't you purchased this rifle yet?

Posted by Ziggy on Oct 8th 2014

This rifle was my first AR purchase and let me tell you something, what a buy. Since purchasing this rifle I have fired a Bushmaster and a Sig AR 15 and I am far more impressed with the LE6920. I had done tremendous amounts of research on the AR15 and came to the conclusion that this was the best bang for your buck and I am still not disappointed after 1500 rounds. I have used all sorts of different grain 5.56 ammo and have not experienced a single issue, literally none. I have seen other AR15s choke on the cheap federal ammo that I use.

Seriously, if you're reading this and are on the fence about a purchase, just stop. This is what your are looking for. This particular model came with the magpul iron sights, and a 30rd pmag. Coming with the pmag was a nice touch, considering those mags are second to none.

Also, as sort of a side point. Colt makes the M4s for the military, and this is pretty much the same thing... which if it's good enough for the military it's probably good enough for your average Joe. There are some differences, such as barrel length, the BCG and no auto sear. I really just don't have enough good things to say about this firearm.

I've had mine for about 6 months now and I still get exited to go shoot it. I have a red dot scope by Aimpoint installed on it and it is a blast to shoot. It's light, accurate and dependable. I would recommend this weapon to anyone that enjoys shooting.

  • The BEST

Posted by TMAX on Jul 14th 2014

I also own DPMS AR-15 and has been a workhorse. The Colt LE6920 is SWEET. Like a Sports Car compared to a tractor. DPMS is the Tractor.

  • Well worth the money

Posted by Mike on Jul 6th 2014

Right out of the box, this became my favorite rifle. Unbelievably light. No failures of any kind; easy trigger pull. Everyone who shot this m4 said it was the best ar they have ever fired. Anyone can criticize Colt for the price, but it you want the weapon to fire every time, this is the one. I would buy mine and pay the same price all day, every day.

  • picked it up today,Was very very happy!!

Posted by Johnny Nightrider on Oct 3rd 2013

I picked up my Colt M4 6920ca today. It had a ten round magpul pmag.A magpul mbus rear flip up sight. It came with a manual but no sling or cleaning kit or carry handle.I bought a nice magpul sling for it.It was awesome. It looked good, felt good, and functioned dry fire just fine.It had the proper markings. The H on the buffer. The magnetic particle markings on the barrel with 1-7 twist. The right serial number and Colt M4 with LE than serial number on the receiver.I can't wait til I get it out on the outdoor range. It came with a lock so I didn't have to buy one.It had the A2 triangular front sight and the 4 position telescoping buttstock.THe picatinny rail on top for a red dot or a optic sight.I got a fair price on it.The sales tax in California is 9% which is kind of high. All around I'm very very happy!!!

  • Picked it up and held it and I was sold!!!

Posted by Johnny Nightrider on Sep 29th 2013

I live in California and purchased the Colt M4 6920 Carbine with 1 magazine...I picked it up and the weight, balance, the way it felt and the high quality of the rifle sold me.I looked thru the Magpul MBUS Gen.2 rear sight aperature on 300-600 meters and than flipped the aperture down to look at the 0-200 meter sight.I worked the telescoping stock and the charging handle and it all felt right as compared to other Wanna be M4's I've tried.I have to wait another 4 days before I can pick it up because in Kommiefornia there is a ten day waiting period after you DROS it.I'm really happy I got one before SB-374 goes into law if Governor Brown doesn't Veto it.Than all semi-auto rifles with a detachable magazine or a bullet button to release the magazine will be banned Jan.1,2014.And in California we have until July 1st,2015 to register these rifles as assault weapons if the Bill is signed into law or not Vetoed.Craziness but I blame the Californian people for voting these legislators into office.I will write back after I fire the M4 rifle.

  • I HOPE SO......

Posted by Bamatim on Mar 4th 2013

I already owned a Double Star and have been very pleased with it. Put a slide fire on it and it eats everything I feed even Wolf with no problem. I just purchased a new in the box DPMS but haven't shot it yet. After going on some of the AR sites they made me feel like the DPMS was junk. Everyone says to get a Colt so I have now came across and new in the box Colt LE6920. ... I hope that I will be as please as everyone else with mine.

  • It's a Colt...Nuff said.

    Posted by GKColt324 on Jan 12th 2013

Did my homework before purchasing this rifle.
Purchased back in July and have put about 1000 rounds thru it and a not a single problem. Easy to break down and clean. Mine came with the flat top rail and Magpul BUIS..out of the box shot .50 cent piece grouping at 100 yds. Bought a Nikon M-223 BDC 8489 3x12x42 scope and LaRue QD mount and can shoot thru the same holes at 150 yds.
Upgrades I added was a Troy quad rail, and Geissele SSA trigger. (Nothing wrong with stock trigger) I put this trigger in all my ars
Buy this gun if you can find it.

When it's said that the Colt LE6920 M4 Carbine is the "Gold Standard of AR15's", believe it.

This AR is just perfect for both indoor and outdoor ranges. It can take anything you throw at it and perform flawlessly.

I did alot of research, both text reviews and online videos, and have yet to find anything but praise for this firearm.

I go pistol shooting with a friend and surprised him with the Colt in a US PeaceKeeper MRAT (M4 Rapid Assault Tactical) Case. He thought I had my old Remington long rifle .22 in a new case. When I opened the case, his eyes widened with anticipation. We had a blast at the range and the Colt M4 fired perfectly.

And seeing the Pony on the magazine carrier is just icing on the cake.

Cannot find anything less than perfect. Lots of options. I added a quad rail, and modified a quick mount to allow a scope w/o removing the rear sight. A Dremel tool did it in an hour. I love the open sight. Makes you try harder. As for ammo, I have tried cheap Russian ammo up to the best available. Groupings change slightly, but after 1100 rounds, not one misfeed. Easy to breakdown. Cleans easily. Looks great.

  • This Colt Beats ALL The Rest

Posted by BartMan on May 3rd 2012

I have a Bushmaster M4 with two uppers, a 14.5" for tactical (defense) work, and a 20.1" for longer range varmint shooting, and I love it, It is, by far the second best AR platform civilian "Black" rifle on the market, and I wouldn't part with it. I happen to see this new Colt LE6920 with a 16.1" bbl in a display case. I looked at it more closely as I couldn't believe they actually had a Colt in stock as you have to get on a waiting list to buy one. I bought it immediately. In my opinion, it handles better than my Bushmaster, shoots easier and is more accurate right out of the box. 2-1/4" 5 shot groups @ 125 yards. Handling is quicker at just over 5 lbs. empty, and it shoots as smooth as a well-used 22LR. It was fate that I saw this beauty. Now, I have a new best friend.

  • Want an AR? Get this one.

Posted by Owlbot on Dec 26th 2011

Picked this up about 3 years ago now - not one single issue. I clean it periodically, not after every time I go out shooting, and it fires regardless - extremely reliable. I highly recommend a Colt - and the uniqueness of the stamp is a nice touch too.
