Colt m4 "Impulse buy"
Yep, got it one sale Black Friday cuz it was on the shelf and I had the cash in pocket. Had it NOT been a Colt I wouldnt have given it a second thought. It's got all the Mag-Pul furniture and all it needs is some kind of optic, preferably one that DOESNT require batteries. I do love the rifle as-is BUT am leery of the longer shots AND the fact that the 5.56 just doesnt get the UMMMPH out of that short barrel. With the shorter shots and heavier bullets, OK.. Otherwise I prefer the 20" barrel. Old Fashioned, old dog, new tricks, as they say.. Godwilling and the crick don't rise, my next will be an AR15A4.. a clone of the USMC rifle which the Corps is foolishly replacing with the M4. Just sayin.

COLT LE6920 M4
Waited to get the LE6920...found it at one of my favorite gun shops. My wife "made me get it". added an Eotec and G33 magnifier with a Veridian x5L tactical green laser and Protac HL2 tactical light...SO MUCH FUN TO SHOOT...NEVER QUITS.

Colt 6920
The Colt 6920 is the gold standard of all AR's. There are some other AR's that are great weapons such as the FN-15, Stag, Smith & Wesson MP-15, and Bushmaster. I would not put those weapons down at all. However, I have found that all excellent AR's are always compared to Colt. That tells me all I need to know and that is why I purchased the Colt 6920. I have not be disappointed at all and appreciate Colt's superb workmanship.

Excellent choice for the $$$
I own a couple of Patriot Ordnance rifles, a P415 and P308. Both have nice optics, a light, and forward grips. They are extremely nice rifles, but are a bit heavier due to being piston gas systems, as well as the accessories mounted on them. Enter the Colt 6920. I was looking for a KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid)carbine, a no frills, lightweight, totally reliable rifle. The 6920 fills this role perfectly. I removed the Magpul MBUS from mine and installed a Colt A2 removable carry handle instead. Just a personal preference for the intended purpose of this rifle. The Colt 6920 is very well balanced, and mine has been totally reliable. When comparing Colt to other AR's in it's price range, the Colt wins hands down. It is by definition Mil Spec. They use Carpenters steel for the bolt, all the correct parts are staked as needed, magnetic particle tested, etc. The 6920 is a semi auto version of the military's M4, with an extra 1.5" of barrel length. It is a combat rifle, not a "Sporter" rifle like so many other company's offerings in the $600-$1000 range.

seven year Review
Well, my only remorse is; I can't give her a 10. Anyway, I have made a couple modifications, however, this is with out a doubt, the Gold standard of AR 15's..... Keep her clean, keep her close, like any woman, (wife, mother, child), spoil them, tell them everyday, oh I love you. Watercop.

Why haven't you purchased this rifle yet?
This rifle was my first AR purchase and let me tell you something, what a buy. Since purchasing this rifle I have fired a Bushmaster and a Sig AR 15 and I am far more impressed with the LE6920. I had done tremendous amounts of research on the AR15 and came to the conclusion that this was the best bang for your buck and I am still not disappointed after 1500 rounds. I have used all sorts of different grain 5.56 ammo and have not experienced a single issue, literally none. I have seen other AR15s choke on the cheap federal ammo that I use. Seriously, if you're reading this and are on the fence about a purchase, just stop. This is what your are looking for. This particular model came with the magpul iron sights, and a 30rd pmag. Coming with the pmag was a nice touch, considering those mags are second to none. Also, as sort of a side point. Colt makes the M4s for the military, and this is pretty much the same thing... which if it's good enough for the military it's probably good enough for your average Joe. There are some differences, such as barrel length, the BCG and no auto sear. I really just don't have enough good things to say about this firearm.
